Baseball hangover again
May. 25th, 2022 08:08 amOn normal nights I'm generally asleep by 9:30. On baseball nights in Spring, it's 11:30. (In Summer, when they move the start time back, it will be even later.) I sleep in and wake up feeling drugged. And after a night of really crappy Mariner playing, it feels even worse. But, last night's game inched me towards changing my ticket to the new space. Maybe.
My next game is Sunday and, I was seriously delighted to see rain - serious rain - in the forecast. Last night, the roof was closed because there were showers before the game. The whole stadium feels so much cozier with the roof closed. And, for a day game, like Sunday's, roof closed = guaranteed no sun burn!
I woke up thinking that I'd really like to go to Trader Joe's today but then I remembered my Eat Out Of Freezer campaign and decided that a trip to Trader Joe's would not bode well. So. No. Not today, Joe. I might go nowhere. Today's game is at 1 and it's not one I can time shift. (When the good broadcasters are on, I can TiVo and start watching later and fast forward through the ads.) The Very Annoying broadcaster is on TV today so I'll be watching on mute and listening to the radio broadcast which requires real time.
It's fine. I've got plenty to do here. And while most days, I'd rather be holed up here by myself, today it seems more like a respite than most. So holed up I am.
