And so summer begins

This afternoon it is warm, and humid in this living room so the blinds are down (the windows face east BUT the glass apartment building kindly :( ensures that the evening sun gets reflected into the living room as well). And the air conditioner is on. And now we have Summer.

This morning I needed duct tape and learned that my roll is coming to an end. So Home Depot - tape and steps. It was good and before the clouds left so not hot.

My latest yarn order arrived and I forgot to order one color. Sigh. Oh well, it's not like I won't need more. And it's from my favorite WoolWarehouse in the UK. Ordered on Friday. In my living room on Wednesday. I doubt I'll ever get over their fast shipping.

Found the latest Sewing Bee and downloaded it.And did a bunch of Prolific surveys.

Oh and I sold one of my Mariner tickets. I had a ticket for next Wednesday's game - an afternoon game - and the forecast is looking like it might be sunny and hot. So I listed it for double the value. And the damn thing sold!! I have three more afternoon games - one in June, July and August. The June one is showing rain that day so fine. But I went ahead and put the other two up for sale at even more. As we get closer and I can see what the weather will be, I can delete the offering, if they haven't sold. But, if they do, I'll be making some serious coin.

Right now they are playing in Texas and are, right now, ahead 4-3 which is good. The idiot is doing the TV broadcast so it's going to get muted pretty soon.

No news from Oklahoma.

I love woolwarehouse too! They’re pretty local to me but even so I’ve been impressed with their fast deliveries. That’s so speedy for international shipping!

OMG!!! Do they have a store?? It would be amazing to have them as a local yarn shop. But, seriously, most of the time, I feel like they have my order filled and on the way to DHL before I even place it. I use Stylecraft Special DK which we can't get here. Not only do they always have it in every single color but their prices - even with the exchange - are so reasonable. Next time you drive by, wave for me, k?

I think it's just a warehouse, but maybe they used to offer picking it up from them instead of delivery? I was always too lazy though, with free delivery :)

It always gives me a slight culture shock when I see stuff like that, as in UK cricket the T&Cs nearly always prohibit reselling your tickets for above face value. We've had big problems in past years with touting (scalping) hence most people generally support the restrictions. Football is even stricter due to crowd segregation: it's outright illegal to resell football tickets unless you're officially licensed to do so. Not making any comment either way on this, just an observation. :)

The Mariners (and most other event places) have a deal with a licensed reseller (StubHub) so I go to the Mariner ticket site and click 'sell' on my ticket and it automatically goes to StubHub where I can name my price.

Selling on the street would be dicey even if it were legal since there are no more paper tickets.

Lucky you. I've had occasion to sell a number of my Red Sox tickets last year and this year (because several of my co-owners have opted out for both), and even at significantly less than face value they only sell about half the time. (The one time I was able to get more than face value was for a post-season game last year, but that's a whole different animal). Plus StubHub skims off 15%. It's still better than just eating all of them.

Yours probably sell better because they're super-premium seats.

yes on the super-premium seats. Since those sections are all sold to season ticket holders, the only way you can buy a ticket there is StubHub. And there are generally less than a half dozen available for any game.
