I do not have a good system for keeping track of stuff I want to watch on TV. I've tried this app and that. This website and that one. And they all suck. So I have a text based list.

My TiVo keeps track of the network shows - ABC,CBS,NBC,PBS,FOX,HGTV - but the rest I watch via Roku apps. I get titles from this website and that one and Twitter and even TV Guide which I get in paper form in the mail just like in the olden days.

Wanna see my current list?

These are shows that sound interesting enough to check out. I don't have all these services now. But, I keep their shows on the list anyway. I might get a subscription for a month or Amazon might have one of their specials. I want to be ready!

I keep a list too, here on DW (https://jo.dreamwidth.org/2697806.html) that I add to when something comes to my attention. I mostly learn of new/upcoming shows via The Guardian. Every month they do a "what's on this month" for various streaming services (this is June's https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/ng-interactive/2022/jun/01/whats-on-netflix-and-amazon-this-month-june) and I make a note of anything that sounds potentially interesting. And every day, they have a "What to watch tonight" piece (like this: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jun/09/tv-tonight-a-magnetic-colin-firth-gears-up-for-the-finale-of-the-staircase), which of course is sometimes just shows airing in the UK, but if it's something that sounds interesting, I'll torrent it.

ETA: I also have a separate list of shows I have actually watched / have started this year (and books read): https://jo.dreamwidth.org/2723852.html

Nice idea! Also means that you could decide to pull the trigger on getting a subscription (or not) based on what you want to watch! I was getting a deal on a couple of subscriptions thanks to school (yes, I absolutely took advantage of student-based discounts even though I'm 48!) and so I'll have to figure out soon what to keep and what to get rid of. We recently got rid of HBO Max and I"m seeing all these things I want to watch on it so I might have to bring it back.

I don't think there's a show on your lists that I've heard of.

I am currently watching Pieces of Her. I love Toni Collette, and I like the first couple of episodes, but it is now feeling like I'm slogging through it...

One of my collegues was at medical school with Adam Kay, and I very much enjoyed the book 'This is Going to Hurt'. I have not seen the show yet though.

I didn't realize that there was any information of value left in the print version of TV Guide. We let our subscription lapse years ago, and I thought awe were among the last holdouts at the time.

That's some list! I just go by "What do I feel like watching right now?" plus, I have a completion fetish, so right now it's "all Buffy, all the time." I have an author alert at the library, so whenever they purchase something I want to see, I get an email and get on a waiting list. It works pretty well for me.

I dig your list! We use a spreadsheet with statuses and color coding. It's ridiculous.
