susandennisI realized when I left the grocery store, that I had made one of those 'buy so much stuff but nothing to eat' grocery runs. So when I got stuck waiting for a train, I fired up the bagel place's order online to order a sandwich. But they fucked up their app again and I couldn't place the order. I was too pissed to stop and order in person so I just went home. I wasn't starving and figured I could conjure up something. While I was putting away the groceries, Frank texted asking if I was home and telling me he was going to make a food drop in 40 minutes but not to wait lunch.
Sometimes, he drops off candy or dessert so I wasn't that confused. But, since I wasn't starving, I decided to wait until after his drop.
He pinged and I went down to the street to find him holding a bag of the best stuff from Church's!!!!!!
We do not have a Church's restaurant nearby so I never get any. This bag had tons of chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes with gravy and a huge order of fried okra. Fresh and warm! In other words it was food heaven!! (He said that sometimes he gets home from the grocery and is starving and that's why he told me not to wait lunch. I am soooooo glad I didn't listen.)
I've also jonesin' for some fried chicken for a while now. Ok so to be honest, if I'm awake I'm up for fried chicken.
I sat down and enjoyed the best meal on the planet. I'd forgotten how much I do like Church's. I thought their okra was not crunchy enough (not true today - this stuff is great). I thought their biscuits were dry and dull. WRONG. They have a drizzle of sweet on top which ordinarily I would not like but these were delicious. And the chicken.... Frank got me my favorite dark meat. Perfection.
And there is plenty left over.
What a marvelous, wonderful, delicious surprise. I am one lucky ducky.
