I figured out what UPS is bringing today. One of those little finger widgets that measures oxygen. During the Summer of 2020 my doctor's clinic sent me an email asking if I wanted a free one. Ok. It never came. I bought one. About a month ago, I got an email saying they were sending mine soon. Yeah, not so impressive on any level. But, at least now, my UPS expectations are now down where they should be.

I have recurring dreams about swimming pools that are crowded, elevators I can't find, and filthy toilets. Doncha just love my dreams and aren't you glad I don't write about them??? Last night, I had the trifecta. And still managed to get a good night's sleep.

SteveTheLawyer copied me on a note to Bill's investment guy. Yep, most of his money was in investments. Timing. Ugh. I wonder how cashing those out will work. How do you pick the day/time to sell? I'm not going to worry about it, that's what SteveTheLawyer is getting paid to do. I've lost enough of my own money. If I wanted to worry about something, I'd worry about that. Even after the feds interest hike yesterday, every single one of my investments is showing red (losing money) today. What will happen will happen. My worrying about it changes nothing.

On a cheerier note, I have the latest Sewing Bee episode downloaded and ready to watch.

I was reading Her Last Goodbye by Rick Mofina. I was maybe 30% in when I gave up. The story had potential but no editor It suffered a decided lack of nuance and was clearly going to take twice as long to tell as it should have. So my Goodbye came early. So today's projects include finding a new book.

Oh I got a new email from La-Z-Boy that my chair is built. On to QA and then on to me. I'm beginning to believe I might see it sooner than later. I'd love to get it before the end of August when all my company comes. But, again, what will happen... I still need to pay for half of it. A much better place for the balloon ride money to go!

My treadmilling every day is working out fine. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. And it's far easier than gathering swim gear, waiting for the bus, getting to the pool... etc. I even thought about doing it twice yesterday. I didn't - I'm not crazy - but I thought about it.

Today I'm actually planning on leaving the house. First time this week, I think. I have a couple of errands to run so I'm going to waste some gas. But first, a couple of prolific surveys, then shower, then dressed and off.

Can't you just transfer the investments into your brokerage account?

Isn't it weird that an unknown package always makes us so excited. I mean, what's the likelihood that someone has actually sent us five gold bars or a kilo of cocaine?

Actually, I get one or the other every week. Sometimes both.

I have been avoiding looking at how my investments are doing. Yesterday I had a quick call with this guy from the place where my inherited IRA is, because I have to start taking out required minimum distributions and I wanted to talk through the options. When he casually mentioned the current balance, it took my breath away how down it was from where it was when I inherited it (and that's not even considering the amount it had gone up last year after I inherited it).

I just discovered today that my mother had a finger widget and I never even knew they were a thing outside of hospitals!

I often dream I am in a loo and the door will not shut properly, or I am lost and trying to get home. Strange anxiety dreams maybe?

I saw those finger thingums at the store for cheap. I should probably get one for myself.

I bought a finger widget (oximeter?) when Covid arrived - a vital bit of kit for the times.

Love Sewing Bee, I hope Man Lee wins.
