I guess I have not been down the big road that gets me from here to QFC in a while. That Peruvian chicken place that's been on my Try Next list forever is now a slab of concrete with brand new building permits surrounding it. Ooops. Two vacant lots now have large buildings on them and a couple more have ones in progress. Wow. The CVS is shuttered. Lots of stuff going on.
My tire light came on. Probably because of the change in temperature. My car has this one button that is specifically for the tire light. When you press it, the tire light goes off. It's like you can create a new reality. No, actually, that tire isn't low because look, the tire light is out! I kind of want a button like that on lots of things.
I know that it is better to reinflate tires when they are either hot or cold. But I couldn't remember which. I got out the tire inflater thingie and then looked to see what the pressure should be and it said "cold tire pressure". Alright then. We'll do that later!
I remembered to get meals to eat at the grocery! Go me!
Also we're going to try an experiment. This new (well, since March) medicine I am on (Metformin) is best taken in the evening on a stomach that has just eaten protein. The problem is that since my big meal of the day is lunch, there are often times when all I want is a snack in the evening, if that, and chips and pretzels don't have enough protein :) So I end up eating stuff I don't want.
This drug is also (predicted by my doctor) giving me some lovely weight loss so I don't want to counteract that.
So... new plan. Cereal or toast for breakfast. Big meal for lunch. Breakfast burrito (egg/cheese/bacon- protein for miles) for dinner!!
We'll see how it goes.

Date: 2022-06-24 02:22 pm (UTC)My doctor warned me that it might cause diarrhea and he wasn't wrong.
So I googled and found this: https://diabetesstrong.com/can-metformin-cause-diarrhea/ where it said Taking your Metformin with meals has been shown to reduce the risk of diarrhea. Focus on a higher protein meal or snack when taking it. Never take Metformin on an empty stomach. Metformin is usually better tolerated in the evening, so taking it with dinner is best.
So I started doing that - I actually take it in the middle of my evening protein laden meal/snack and that fixed the diarrhea problem right up!
