I love Seattle
Jun. 24th, 2022 06:06 pmOn this bummer of a day, there is a little ray of sunshine.
There is lots of Seattle action on Reddit. In fact there are three subreddits for Seattle (and, no, they cannot get along). The level of mean and stupid and snark is pretty high but today, so much so that the support and solidarity shown there today is astounding and so cool.
One guy posted about his very positive vasectomy experience. I read the original post and thought... oh fuck - these comments are going to be so trashy, I'm not even going to look. But, I did. And wow. Not trashy at all. Supportive and inclusive and just wow.
I love the weather in Seattle but the politics and mores are nearly as important. Our state constitution has an equal rights amendment. And even our snarkiest, meanest, silliest redditors show their true, solid and supportive nature when it counts.
I'm grateful.
