One of the things I liked was the clean lines and lack of stitching to make it look poofy.

This is what was delivered today:



I'm actually not that surprised. I knew they were going to fuck it up and they did not disappoint.

I sent an email asking management to contact me with remediation.

But, looks aside, it is sooooooo comfortable! And it's not huge and it has a handy remote control that sits on the side in a little cubby held in by a magnet. And it has push buttons for preset options that don't even need the magnet. And it has amazing lumbar support that is adjustable. I love the chair, I just don't love the look but I'll get over it. Or get money back. Or get a replacement. Whatever.

At least they were on time and the "dwell time" was more like 5 minutes than 18.

While I waited, I got laundry done. The second and final load is just about dry and the first load is put away. The ball game starts in about a half hour and I have leftover poke for lunch. Things are fine. And my butt is very happy.


EDIT LATER: To be clear, I ordered red leather. The website photo is what you get when you plug in red leather. I'm fine with the color and I'm fine with the leather. I'm NOT fine with the horizontal stitching across the back rest and the vertical stitching down the sides. That stitching is NOT on the website version anywhere. Nor was it on the store model.

I like the one you originally picked better, but the one you got is at least the least poofy modern one I've seen. I have no idea why they make them so large but I suspect that it's because it's a throne for the master of the house (vomit).

I should add that they have a proud tradition of upfuckage. Fiftyish years ago when NZ was a very different place and it was incredibly hard to get overseas goods, my mother saw a Lazyboy at a trade show and ordered two. She had to wait eighteen months for them to arrive. I can still see the back of the truck opening in the driveway and my horror when I saw not the small floral pattern my mother had ordered but giant ugly orange flowers. Of course there was nothing she could do about it , so giant ugly orange flowers it was. She eventually moved somewhere with too small a living room to accommodate them and passed them on to me. I've just had them recovered for the second time (not with giant ugly orange flowers). No snazzy features like in your new one, but no poofiness either. Still the comfiest chairs ever.

I, too much prefer the one you originally picked out. However, the one you got is STILL better and more "minimalist" than most recliners sold now. And, the fact that it's comfortable is a plus and a reason to keep it. It's not UGLY, and it sure could be worse! However, they screwed up. I hope you get some remediation for the goof.

You ordered a maroon fabic covered chair and they sent tan leather? I wonder if they got deliveries mixed up and there's someone else complaining they got your chair and not the one they ordered? At least it's a nice style and is comfy but as I know it wouldn't have come cheap you at least deserve the one you ordered. I hope you get it sorted out whether you keep it or not.

As others have already commented, I wondered immediately whether you had ordered the leather/pleather, or had actually asked for the fabric originally?

Not that you should have to spend money on it, but you could probably pay someone to reupholster it to your liking without disrupting the chair's excellent features.

Also...do you have cats? With claws? :X
