My brother probably should skip this entry
Jul. 3rd, 2022 04:43 pmI remembered to take a hoodie to the ballpark but not socks and I was sorry. If I had it to do again, I'd wear a long sleeved shirt - maybe a turtleneck with the hoodie and fur lined ankleboots with socks. It was chilly but fun.
Now I'm home and I opened the door to the terrace - much to Biggie's delight. His birds are giving him a show. And I had to put socks on because my feet were really cold.
In July. And I love it.
We have this kid. Julio Rodriguez. It's his first year playing. His parents came to his first few games and they were as adorable as he is. He's huge and he's fast and he's powerful. And he has the biggest smile of anyone and wears it often. He has already amassed slightly better stats than Ken Griffey Jr. did when he first started. They have this thing on Sundays sometimes when they send out little kids as place holders before the first inning. One for each player. They announce them and show them on the big screen. Then the players come out and sign a baseball for 'their' kid. It's cute. Julio made a huge deal of it today. He knelt down as soon as he got to his little girl and gave her a big hug and then danced her around so her parents got mega screen time.
And then, when the game started and the Mariners came up to bat - he led off. And hit the first pitch out of the ballpark.
He's just such fun to watch.
Nice day all around.
