I love reading my reading page on holidays. Half the entries are about doing holiday stuff and half are biz as usual. It grounds me and gives me a nice feeling of my bigger world. From right here in my living room!

My morning started at the top. An Amazon delivery person made a huge effort to deliver my package. Usually on weekends and holidays, Amazon deliveries are iffy at best. But this woman tried one way, fail. Tried another way, fail. Sent me a text which has never ever happened. And finally called me on the phone. When I got to the front door, I apologized profusely for all her trouble and got a huge smile in return. It was just a bright bit. Sadly, Amazon has no way for me to really reward her - I'm pretty sure their feedback button goes to thin air but I'll be sending her thanks via ESP all day.

Plans this morning are errands. I have several quick stops and I want to get out and get then done and get back before the sun breaks through the clouds and turns us back to Summer. I ordered some meat pies that are to be delivered this afternoon and the ball game is at 4.

I think I'll just head on out now.

How sweet your Amazon delivery person was committed to getting the job done! It can be a frustrating job. It's what my son does :)

aww, glad it arrived! I'm sure the fact that you were happy and thankful and not a jerk about it probably helped make her day better (it always blows me away when someone makes an extra effort and the response they get is basically 'well you should have done it sooner/better/etc')

I'm always nervous about leaving feedback like "they went above and beyond, to get me my thing!" because what if their boss questions it, like, "that's not in your job description," or "no wonder you're always behind schedule."

Maybe keep some gift cards on hand for that sort of eventuality?

You are right it is grounding to see what others are doing!
