Dreamwidth has taken to logging me out sporadically and it's annoying. I usually discover it when my comment is recorded as anonymous. Not fatal but annoying.

As it happens yesterday I went back to LiveJournal for the first time in forever. I still wonder at my making the transition I said I never would. I do not miss LiveJournal at all which shocks me. Dreamwidth is so much easier to navigate, tailor and use. And it has a viable, workable search that enables me to find stuff in my own journal - even really old stuff. LiveJournal's search never found a thing. So I forgive the logging out but I wish it wasn't so.

A "local homeowner" (as opposed to another kind?) posted a letter of outrage all over the building. It's not very well constructed or thought out and only offers a suggestion of postponing with the solution of go to the meeting and vote. The tuckpointing is already about 4 years behind because of a fight with the city electric company over the placement of telephone polls. The roofing fix is pretty critical because, well, roofing. And postpone til when? The voting thing is also pretty ripe. You need a majority to defeat. You could not get a majority vote if they were voting to give each person $17,000. Ain't gonna happen. And, why anonymously???

In the mail today ('coming today email') is the annual real estate tax appraisal notice. For the first time in the 30 years I've lived here, it is exactly the same as last year in both categories - building and land. Interesting.

--------------

I take five prescription drugs every day. One is an inhaler but the other four are pills. Blood pressure (2), cholesterol, sugar levels. I get them refilled every 90 days. And today's the day. I am currently in the Medicare coverage gap (donut hole) so from now until $8K from now, I have to pay full price for drugs. Except, not for all. My insurance has a lot of downsides but in fairness a nice little pile of upsides. Yes these drugs are all generic but still, the cost is comfortable.

And they send them to me for free, too.

[personal profile] spiffikins may well have cracked my baseball syncing problem. The "radio" I've been listening to is really streaming. Likely there will be a difference to sync BUT not nearly as much as I have been experiencing. IF I can find a radio that gives me AM reception in this building. I have an old Sony transistor. Nope. I have an emergency radio that is better but still too static-y for a whole game. So Amazon is bringing me some options. One was supposed to be here yesterday but didn't make it. One is supposed to be here by 11.

The game today is at 1.

Across the street and in the 'hood will be mayhem today... starting soon. Kenny Chesney has a concert in the football stadium tonight. Doors open to the preconcert stuff at 1:30. holy cowboy. Happily I have no place I want or need to go today. Neither does Biggie.

I just went through our meds (Dana and me). You've got a better deal. We pay $12 minimum / 90 days for everything. Used to be zero. I'm actually interested in the medical legislation Manchin has been toying with like Biggie would. The erosion of our benefits has been predictable and relentless. Slowly but surely it is costing more. I mean, who can't afford $12 for a 90 day med that keeps them alive? But we've got more than one and $12 becomes $20 pretty quickly. Definitely concerns me.

Glad you are getting a good deal on your meds from the insurance company. I am grateful that all my meds are free (and have been since retirement). They are also free for low earners and those on benefits. People on good incomes pay £9.25 per item per month although some items are free for all (diabetes and epilepsy meds and thyroxine etc). My very nice pharmacist deals with all repeats and hand delivers to my door each month. I can't complain.

Biiggie looks perfectly happy where he is :)

I have not found Dreamwidth easy to use. Do you have a paid account? (I don't, which would explain that.) Is there a tutorial somewhere for DW? I haven't figured out how to do much of anything . . .

I like DW better than LJ these days, because I'm way more familiar with the user interface. Plus, the Russians who run LJ have atrocious English grammar. The old Soviet Union used to have spokesmen who would go on shows like Ted Koppel's "Nightline" and speak impeccable American English without even a hint of a Russian accent. So it *can* be done.

It's been doing that to me too. I notice it when I start to comment, but the only way I can actually get logged in (which I need to do if I want to change my icon from the default) is to try to post the empty comment.

You and I have considerable overlap in prescription drugs (I take both losartan and metoprolol, and a different statin). My costs are higher than yours, but not really significant relative to my finances.

I'm guessing the anonymous homeowner simply wanted an outlet to voice his/her rage & maybe to see if there were any like-minded individuals who could maybe join with him/her to formulate a better way to combat the high cost. Without identifying him/herself, it eliminates retribution in case they are alone in their thinking  That's my take anyway.

Yay for free prescription drugs! I'm guessing you have Part C? If so, I'm curious about how much that is? My mom refuses to sign up for it but complains about the high cost of her meds & picks & chooses what she'll take - & ends up suffering. She also won't use Goodrx.
