The Mariners won the last game before the break - making their winning streak 14 games. The 5 pm news of the local ABC affiliate led with 3 Mariner stories (Mariners usually don't even make their sports news). Twitter went nuts. Including: "14 day old babies were born into a world where the Seattle Mariners have never lost"

pretty hilarious. and fun. Now we wait until Friday.

Ohhhh speaking of Twitter, I just saw that Ken Jennings is back tonight as Jeopardy host!! Yahoo.

Our COVID numbers are on the rise again. Deaths and hospitalizations and cases. And the latter is likely under-reported due to home tests. Makes me twitchy. Big time. Yesterday's early morning foray to the grocery store showed me that not enough people are masking up. It just makes me twitchy. I'm glad I don't have anywhere I need to go. Ooops I do have to go to the ballgame on Friday. That could be an issue. Fuck. Oh well.

I do want to go to the pet food store. I have the last of the food donations to drop off (stuff that Biggie refuses) and some trade ins (more stuff that Biggie refuses) and I want some more of his dried food. BUT he's still got a couple of weeks worth of dried food left so no hurry.

I have a couple of things on my Goodwill shopping list but nothing I can't do without for now.

Bottom line, if you need me, I'll be right here in this living room. Or maybe the sewing room. I have some mending and I need to put a zipper into a pillow case I got last week at Goodwill.

I'll be working on my massive crochet project and listening to my book or watch TV. The good life.

Same. Where I live, the CDC just moved us up from LOW to HIGH on Thursday night. Not happy at all, and these people are just bouncing around, living their lives with no masks, and here I am last week taking a COVID test three different days because I thought I might have it an not know it (no signs other than worsening fatigue, all the tests came back negative) - I kinda never want to go out around people ever again.

Yup. I too never want to go out around people ever again, and yet I've just begun swimming. No oppty to mask in a pool.

Plus, I love it so. This 2+ years has taken its toll on my physical and mental health.

What is it about dry food and cats!? Why do they love it so much? I know it's not the best food to be giving them exclusively but damn ... once I begin to dish out the dry stuff, they refuse the canned stuff.

Damn cats.

Your cat! So picky! It's adorable :)

My boyfriend was running sound for a show this week and after nearly two weeks of rehearsals it's canceled. Three leads got the 'rona. There are understudies but not enough to replace three leads AND the other positions that the understudies had, good grief.

I wonder if and when we'll be able to stop worrying about covid day in and day out.

I am glad to be fairly isolated while at home and work.
And I am never not wearing a mask at the airport ever again.

The Covid blindness makes me crazy. It may be mild for many, but it is still fatal or debilitating far too often.

I'm a bit twitchy about the latest developments with Covid as well. I shudder to think of masking up this month with temps between 95 and 100 for the duration, but I also am not trying to have Covid again. Did not like it, at all.

I have jury duty August 1st. I will most assuredly be masked up for that.

Today I get the dubious pleasure of an in-person visit to my local social security office, to show them documents that they absolutely have to see in order to approve my application for Medicare. They don't make appointments. They don't accept mailed photocopies, uploaded pictures, etc. I figure I'll probably be the only masked person in sight. And that's why I delayed this trip by two weeks and immediately got a covid booster - it should be at peak efficacy today.
