I'm seriously thinking about getting Biggie a buddy. A pet cat of his own.

I wrote to Leah, the cat whisperer and asked what she thought. She actually recommended it as an option once so I think she'll say Do It. But I also need her guidance - what kind and from where and how best - so I want to make sure she's totally on board and available.

I mentioned it to Biggie. He had no comment. That's not a no.

Please think carefully about denying another cat the freedom to go out. They were not put on earth to be trapped inside.

I got Ray Davies to be a companion for Max, but they merely tolerate each other; they're not buddies. I have one photo of one licking the other's head. They don't cuddle. But Max is less bored than he was when I was forced to rehome Thomas Cattus.

The best multiple cat sitch was Max, Thomas, and my bossy old female, Amber. She pushed the boys around and they would groom her when she was in the mood. The dynamic of the three of them really seemed to work.

I tried to match Ray to Max, age-wise, and energy level, but they're still not friends. It's been about five years now. I hope you have better luck. (Maybe a bossy old female cat?)

Yay! It's not said that they'll get to be loving, snuggling buddies...but Biggie probably would be entertained and we too :)
