We're home. Silco* is in the bathroom with food, water and a litter box. His playpen is 6 stops away but I figure he could use some quiet time anyway.





He didn't hop out of the carrier so I just left him.

He did spend about 30 minutes in the carrier in the living room for First Sniff.



Interestingly, zero hissing of any kind. Biggie did try to get into the bathroom and tried hard but sorry, charlie.

The Humane Society is great. Adopting there means you get full disclosure on the pet and your pet has been examined by vets and cared for closely. And spayed or neutered. They are a great service. But volunteers. And staff for whom efficiency isn't that big a deal. Their process is also kind of fucked but... 1.5 hours after you walk in the door you walk out with an adorable kitten. With all kinds of documentation. So good.

*Silco is kind of a dumb name but it's all over his paperwork. So, like Biggie (who's given name is Almond Joy) he needs a nickname. Silly is obvious and may be it. I need a think on it. Maybe Julio!

We did miss a lot of the game but I caught up and we are in the 7th down 2-1. And then JULIOOOOOOOO just hit a 3 run homer. Remember Julio. He's already a 1 name player here in Seattle and I'm guessing he will be everywhere soon.

I am starving.

Bonnie was Brandy when I adopted her. You won't need any television for awhile, the kitties are WAY more entertaining. And you can nickname Silco anything you want.

Don't forget that Biggie IS Top Cat. He won't let you forget.

Someone at the humane society apparently likes gaming. Silco is a character villian in a game called League of Legends.

One of the nice things about cats is you can change their name and it won't mess with their heads the way it can with dogs. My parents had a rescue dog that was stuck with a really dumb name in addition to having been abused before my parents got her.

Oh my goodness, Silco is adorable. Poor wee chap must feel a bit nervous in his new home but he'll soon get used to it. I hope he and Biggie will get on, no reason why they shouldn't. Julio would be a lovely name, if you decide on that :)

Why do shelters [etc] give such odd names to animals?? I see in a later entry you went with Julio :) I've always renamed my pets too. He's gorgeous! I hope after the initial shock that he & Biggie will get along :) I look forward to seeing photos of them & reading about their adventures!
