My car tire light came on again. GRRRRR It's time for the annual checkup anyway so, as usual, I sent an email to my guy. John at Mercedes has been serving my car for the past 10 years. I know he's not going to be there one year when I need him and every year he is, I am grateful. Today's email bounced right back. Fuck. Sent a text. Nothing. Called and got a horrible telephone tree message - complete with commercial - and then a woman with a tiny voice who said he wasn't there and she didn't know when he would be back? I said, "maybe next week?" and she said "They don't tell us - just that he's not here." WTF??? Finally she said "I can send him an email and ask him to call you when he gets back." Fine. But really WTF????

Julio says so, too.

I woke up at 5:30 and it was too hot to go back to sleep so I checked on Julio. His water had spilled all over but he'd done a great job of eating all his food and sprinkling litter around. I pulled him out and took him into the bathroom where we discussed the situation. He was a purring fool!! So sweet and alert and interested. I put him back into the now cleaned up lounge and Biggie did some more sniffing.

Then I had to clean up the bathroom in order to take a shower.

I decided I wanted salad - a big old chef's salad and I needed cat toys and cat food. My plan was to get there when they opened and get home before it got miserable. It was already miserable. But I got everything and got home fine.

Biggie was somewhere napping so I unzipped the lounge and took Julio out. He purred some more and nuzzled a lot. Then back in but I left the roof open for a while and he got out and got some food and looked around.

Biggie did not appear but I zipped the lounge back up anyway. We'll have another adventure later. Now I have to put stuff away and maybe get an early lunch.

I had my private doubts about the lounge, but I have to say it's pretty cool. They can get to know each other's scent without the risk of someone getting beat up. Very smart.

why? what did you doubt about the lounge? i'm curious and am wondering about other options. but, yes, so far, it's working out well.

Well, I picture me getting one. Then I picture Max with his annoying habit of bat-bat-batting at things (closed doors, usually) and getting off on the sound of paw against nylon fabric. I realize not all cats are as annoying as Max is. He finds the ONE THING that makes me crazy, and does it. Repeatedly.
