susandennisOn Friday trying to get to LA, I ended up spending a fair amount of time in the Salt Lake City airport. Now the first thing you probably want to know is how reduced is the Olympic swag... Answer: Not at all. I couldn't believe it. And it was the low end stuff, too. Wild.
But, I was quite excited to find one of those AT&T Internet terminals. It accepted credit card or cash and didn't say how much it was. So I figured it was worth a buck to find out and I stuck one in. 5 mins. I had already checked my email so I went right for my LJ friends page. It came up on the screen and then blinked and was replaced with a message that says:
The page you have requested contains adult material and cannot be viewed on this terminal.
???!!!!! I ate up a good piece of my 5 minutes laughing. You gotta love Salt Lake City.
On the up side, I did discover that with a couple of exceptions, my cellphone is quite handy for checking email. LJ comment email won't display and a lot of spam won't either, but the rest does pretty darned well. It was pretty cool. Typing a message on the phone using the phone pad is not too swift but heck, if you are stuck in an airport with time on your hands, it's kind of a nice puzzle to solve.
