Meanwhile... the condo drama goes on
Aug. 4th, 2022 02:16 pmI just found this in my spam folder! I told gmail that it was decidedly NOT SPAM! He sent it yesterday so I'm not so far behind.
CWD is the outfit we pay to manage the condo. They are hired by and managed by the board which is all volunteers.
Fellow Florentine owners,
Why have 10 days passed and we have heard nothing from either CWD or our board? It was plain both before and during the meeting that at the top of the list of problems was the process by which owners should have been kept in the loop and haven't been for 7 years since this debacle got started. The board and CWD are following the same inexcusable pattern again.
Wasn't this an urgent issue? Weren't the questions asked in the zoom meeting supposed to be answered? Wasn't a subsequent meeting supposed to be planned and take place quickly? If this is a "sense of urgency" I'd hate to see what happens to something less than urgent.
In the mean time we have contractors busily grinding away on the tuckpointing, unratified (or at least un-communicated) budgets that don't account for that spending and another $X million deck project that is, what? On hold? I wish I knew.
There has been zero followup from last Monday's meeting. Why? And when will the promised follow up happen? I wish I knew that too.
This board and the bumbling CWD really need to get it together and start communicating like it mattered.

It was followed by a note from another owner who said she asked the woman project managing the tuckpointing how it was being paid for and the project manager said it was being paid out of "reserves".
The shit rolls on... But maybe I won't have to pay $15,000 on September 1. Good thing because Bill from Mercedes just called and my tire has a nail in it. So I'm getting a new one! Woot! He said it would be about $400. So I'm guessing the whole bill will be about - oh, heck, I have no idea. I'll find out soon enough. Sigh

Date: 2022-08-04 09:44 pm (UTC)When are the board members up for election? Maybe an uprising will happen and they will get kicked out :D
My HOA is bad enough and we only have 36 units in our complex! They are also very odd about what they communicate about. I've received like...6 notifications about some new process they implemented recently where the Board now gets to levy fines against owners who incur "violations". It's all very abstract - I've read the document multiple times now and it's ENTIRELY unclear if these fines kick in AFTER the owner has been notified about the violation and has not resolved the issue or if they are just going to start notifying you about violations *with* a fine?
I need to win the lottery so I can move to a place with no HOA :)
