It's beginning to look like the $15,000 condo special assessment is going to be substantially less. it's also no longer due in two weeks. It's likely that I won't know how much or when for a while. The HOA board continues to be very stingy with their communications. They promised week before last that we'd get more info in a week. Yep. On the last day at the last hour - Friday at 5. The package basically said that under old business at Monday's HOA meeting they will discuss this. It's still a zoom meeting so I'll probably dial in for as long as I can stand it which may not be long. They sent a letter to the board from group of residents. The letter pointed out how they all - the board and the management company fucked up and how they demanded better. The language was civil. It was signed by about 30 residents, many of whom I know so well that I was surprised I was not asked to join in the signing. I was glad I wasn't asked but surprised. We live in interesting condo times here.

In other financial news, this last week has seen a very nice recovery in my investments. They are not back to where they were but are getting there and no longer tanking which is a massive relief. I was getting more than a little worried. If, by some bad luck, I live way longer than planned, I will be needing every last penny.

But speaking on longevity, I had a giant asthma attack this morning caused by ... nothing. It's the first time that's happened in forever. I can always point to something I've inhaled - dust, smoke, something. But this morning there was nothing. I am very grateful to live alone when these things hit. They are just gross - coughing, hacking, chocking. Nobody needs to see/hear that. But, it's over now so whew.

Today is Goodwill/grocery day. I have a couple of items on my Goodwill shopping list and a bunch of donations. Then it will be on to the grocery store. I have a short list. It's nuts to go on Saturday but next week is predicted to be another hot one so I'm going nowhere I don't absolutely have to.

When Biggie and The Smalls were babies, they followed me everywhere but loved it when I was in the bathroom. I remember when they quit following me in there. It was sad. Well... sad no more. Julio follows me in there but then, Biggie follows him! They wrestle in the shower and play on the rugs and talk to each other or just sit while I sit. We bond.

Julio has adopted the new little box as his own which is EXACTLY what I wanted. I wanted to be able to separate their eliminations so I can keep an eye on their individual health.

Now they are in the back somewhere being too quiet and I need to check up on them, shower and get out of here.

I have never been able to provide the vet a stool sample, because my boys' eliminations are virtually identical.

If I had a $15,000 assessment I would plotz. Sometimes I think, "Would I be better off owning a house?" but then I think of all the repairs and improvements that would be my responsibility.

That's good news about the assessment and your investments! I'm sorry to hear about your unexplained asthma attack though.

It's so fun that Julio and Biggie are learning things from each other :)

Glad...

I still get the occasional escort to the loo but not as much as it used to be, which is sad.
