Yesterday turned out to be hotter than i expected but I'm glad I got my 'goings outs' done because it was the coolest day in this upcoming week. My Goodwill trip was a success. I needed a few random things and found them all. I read somewhere the other day that my Goodwill store is the largest Goodwill store anywhere. And it's 2 miles from here.

I needed kitty food dishes. Some flat ones and some shallow bowls. All small and all with some heft. I've been using plastic and they end up on the floor. I found two sets of exactly perfect ones. And the perfect platter to serve them on (to prevent kitty food splatters on the counter). And a few other things. It's just such a fulfilling place to shop. Finding what you want and knowing you are saving stuff from the dumpster.

Then on to the grocery store. This particular store is small but used to be small and excellent. A little more expensive than others but totally worth it. Now it's small and the inventory is pitiful. And clearly they no longer give a shit.I need that bridge to West Seattle fixed. Their grocery stores are not perfect but at least it doesn't (or didn't) smell like your going through a porta potty to get into the store. At a minimum they have stores all bunched together so it's easy to forage different places for what you want.

I did manage to get home with food. And enough for a while.

Biggie and Julio got up very early this morning. They were quiet but they were busy. On and off. At one point I woke up to pee and they were snuggled up together in a kitty puddle in the middle of the bathroom rug. I spent a delicious 30+ minutes later, when I woke up and before I turned on the light just watching them play. Then we all got up and Julio tried to get onto the treadmill with me but, fortunately, it scared him off. Now they have had their breakfast and are napping under the bed.

Julio is not really interested in me. He will hop on the bed and doesn't mind being petted but if Biggie comes into the room, he's goes right to him. Biggie also has less interest in me. They both appreciate my feeding them. But short of that, I'm really not in their radar. At least at this point. I'm ok with that. They have their lives and they let me watch.

Today, I'll also be watching baseball. The Mariners fucked up yesterday but today's a new day and maybe they won't.

I sold a ticket via StubHub and had the funds deposited into my BECU account. They used to require PayPal but now they let you direct deposit. But, once you set it up, you have no way of double checking the details. They give you the last two numbers of the account and list all American banks as American Bank. I have no reason to think I fucked up. But yesterday I got a notice that the deposit was made and I cannot check it until tomorrow and it's making me a little crazy. BECU doesn't do weekends. Everything just sits from Friday night to Monday morning. So I have $350 just hanging in limbo. Not fun!

But, then I remember back when all of your banking was a mystery except once a month when the mail brought your bank statement. How the hell did we live like that????

Ok. I think I'll go make the bed, and scoop litter, and brush teeth, etc. Just generally get my day going.

I've had occasion last year and this to sell more tickets than in previous years on StubHub, and there's been an annoying development lately: I used to get emailfro StubHub informing me that the tickets had sold, but it seems to have stopped coming. The ways I can find out are (1) before game time, check to see if the listing is still there (if not, they've been sold, apparently); (2) several days later, when the payment comes through, StubHub does send me email about the payment.

I found this out a couple of weeks ago when I thought that since I hadn't heard anything, they weren't selling and I should maybe lower the asking price, but then it claimed the listing wan't there (or had "expired"), and it was only when I got the payment notice that i figured it out.

Quite comfortably, according to my memories, though I suppose I could have applied a rose-colored shift to all my memories of my youth.

It sounds like Julio is the best thing that ever happened to Biggie. Besides you.

My shopping philosophy in a nutshell.

I wish my cats would snuggle. At best, they tolerate one another.

I've found that kittens are a lot like teenagers, they are really absorbed in themselves but eventually they realise that other beings can be interesting too.
