I got a call this morning from SamTheFriend. The other beneficiary of my cousin's estate. He sounds like he's about 85. Just a good old boy born in Oklahoma and lived there all his life. He said he has coffee with his buddies every morning and he was talking to them about the estate and how he hadn't gotten anything yet. They all told him that Steve was moving way too slowly. I laughed out loud and said that I was thinking Steve was lightning fast. We chatted. I talked him off the ledge. He really was just doing what his buddies told him to do. I told him my Mom's estate took two years to finalize. (Different state, not a trust, so completely not comparable but I skipped that part.) "I sure am glad I called you," he said. He sounded so sweet.

We also chatted about the weather. He said he likes the Oklahoma heat but his wife likes the cold. "So I'm cold all winter and cold all summer!" hahahahaha

I got an email from HP with the tracking number of my FedEx box which is comforting. At least they apparently have decent follow through.

I have a load of laundry going.

I have a bunch of pairs of crocs that are now my goto shoe for everything. They are all a bit big so I dryer sized them all. (Toss in dryer for 5 mins and then walk around in them until they cool.) Now they all fit perfectly. They may be ugly but damn they are great shoes.

The two bowls of Fancy Feast (one can each) are empty. I think Julio ate most of it but then he needs the food energy. He is now all over his cat tree, chasting the birds that dangle and pushing the balls around. And that's after he finished a vigorous session with the fish.

Now I am going to make myself a liverwurst sandwich for lunch. I have not had liverwurst in a long time because stores around here (everywhere?) just quit carrying it. It's old people's food. The store I went to yesterday has a lot of old customers so I scored some.

The organisation you adopted Julio from really got it right when they said Julio would do better in a home with another cat.
I wonder how they knew this of him? When I worked at as S.P.C.A I didn't have time to get to know the cat/ kittens on a personal level.

LIVERWURST!

My mom used to buy that occasionally - she called it "liver sausage" - and she would have bread, butter, liverwurst smeared on it, and eat it with vinegar.

I remember it fondly - we got to have some occasionally - and every 5-10 years I get a craving and go look for some :D

I love liverwurst! However, it's not something I want non-stop. It's a one-time thing that I can put aside for months and even years before I want it again. But - when I eat it - I love it. And, now I want to go find some. It's been a while!

My cats totally ignore their fish. Or flee from it (Piper, the sensitive one). Piffle.

I wear old lady shoes, too. And like them a lot.

I love liver wurst! We never called it that when I was growing up, though. I don't know if we called it by the German name or if it was a brand, and I'm not even going to try to spell it, LOL. I had it a couple of years ago with one of my hospice patients who was from Germany. :)

It's called Leberwurst. Rather similar to the English word. Food of the Gods if you're from the West Palatinate (the are around Ramstein Airbase) like I am :D I think I'm hungry now ...

The commissary at the Air Base in Bangor always has liverwurst! I love it on rye bread with grainy mustard.

As I said in another reply, Leberwurst is food of the Gods where I am from (West Palatinate - the are where Ramstein Airbase is). My sister still lives there - she and her partner have a smallholding farm meaning they keep a small herd of cattle, a few pigs, goats, horses etc. besides from down fulltime jobs. Lots of work, but they like it. Of course I prefer the Leberwurst that they are providing. On good bread with a bit of mustard - yum! Or, as a fall and winter dinner, with boiled potatoes, gherkin, mustard and a little bit of butter. I am an old lady, live alone and can just do what I want at home without scaring anybody off, so I vigorously mash it all together before eating - looks a right mess, tastes heavenly. :D

I still can't get enough of Biggie and Julio, so thank you for the lovely pictures you keep posting.

That's an alarmingly lifelike-looking fish.

We buy liverwurst occasionally (haven't in quite a while, actually), but it's not easy to find. Also, what generally happens is that we have it for lunch shortly after buying it, and then forget about it for a few weeks. Then, "You know, we ought to have some of that liverwurst" – which turns out to have gone moldy.
