I am a solid, dedicated audiobook person. I have one book started on my Kindle and another started in Google books but both require reading words and I've lost that desire completely. But, audiobooks? Yes, please.

Except this current one. Linwood Barclay's No Time For Goodbye. Some of his stuff is great. Some of is stuff is a definite nothankyou. This one is smack in the middle. I am a little more than halfway through. Two of the main characters are getting so annoying that, ordinarily, I'd just shut it down and move on with my life.

BUT, I really do have to know what happens. The plot is very intriguing and I am sucked into it.

If I had a pages type book, I'd be in skim city. Flipping those pages like mad. As it is, I'm stuck listening to every whiny word. I did crank it up to 1.5x speed but still. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Ha! Just thought to check and, yep, the library has a copy of the Kindle version. Downloaded just now and I'm ready to skim!!

godilovetechnology!!

EDIT: Mission accomplished. It took nearly no time to skim over the crap and reveal the rest of the plot. Done. Moving on.

I feel like I should have read something by him but looked and all the titles (LOTS OF THEM) sound the same. Given my recent track record I guess I'll look elsewhere.

I love audiobooks as well, but there are some books I prefer reading on my Kindle because I absorb more details from them by reading. Unfortunately, some folks don't translate well into the select that format

I've been known to look up spoiler reviews when I'm in that position where I want to know how it turns out but I don't want to read it to get there.
