What a day!!

susandennisMy brother was set to land at 10:30. The plan was that I'd take the light rail to the airport and meet him and we'd go rent the car and then pick up my Matt and Cyndi (my nephew and his wife). I got up leisurely and was about to drink my coffee when I checked Alaska Airlines to learn his plane was getting in at 8:30!!
Fast shower and out the door. I got there about 15 mins before he walked into the baggage area where I was waiting. So now we had a whole lotta time to kill. After we got through the car rental*, we went over to 13 Coins and had a lovely brunch. Then sat in the hot until they finally landed. Whew.
*A Lyft from here to the airport is $45. Renting a car has all of the complications and frustrations as getting a root canal done by a guy watching YouTube for instruction. And it's likely going to cost way more than I anticipated. And we have to pay for parking of it. If we had just Lyfted everywhere, probably we'd have been way better off. But, lesson learned. I'm over car rentals.
But we did get home from the airport. Matt and Cyndi are staying at a hotel one block over. We spent the afternoon here waiting for their room to be ready. Bill and Matt put together the new cat tree.
Both cats approve. Just now Biggie's gone to bed so Julio has it all to himself. He loves finally getting up high.
We had a nice dinner at the new sports bar across from the baeeball stadium and then went to FedEx to pick up my computer back from the shop. The Fedex guy came to deliver while we were at the airport. He refused to leave it but at least the pick up place is not that far from here and easy to get to.
Sounds pretty much like it was a failed power cord. Happens againi, I'm going to try replacing the power cord before I send this sucker anywhere. But it's back.

For rental cars i found it easy to get the app ahead of time and do all the reservation stuff from the comfort of my home, then go pick up the car. It still was a pain but a little less pain.
