Another interesting and full day
Aug. 31st, 2022 10:07 pmI slept so well last night. So woke up very refreshed and feelin' good. The kids texted that they were going to eat their free hotel breakfast so we met up after. And then went on a hilarious adventure to a drug store so Matt could pick up some stuff. Bill was driving and we were all talking and I totally missed the turn. Next thing we are smack in the middle of construction and traffic and it took us forever to get back and then to the drug store. It was pretty hilarious.
After a bit we joined up again and headed out to our favorite pot shop. Seattle has marijuana stores everywhere but my brother and I found this wonderful one years ago and we always go back there. But this time we discovered they are going out of business. They had a very limited amount of stuff left but it was priced to sell. The only other customer in there was a girl who said she was moving to Des Moines, IA and, turns out, hopes to find a place very near Cyndi and Matt. Small world.
Then we went on to Kura which has not only conveyor belt sushi, but menu items zapped to you via another belt and robots who bring you drinks. We had a great time and with four people got to try nearly everything with nothing going to waste.
Then home where we watched the Mariners win and Boston win baseball - and, then, sadly, Austin lose but the latter was soccer.
There was a gynormous concert going on in the baseball stadium and we'd already been caught in the traffic from it coming back from Kura. So we just ordered pizza in. It was good and fun.
Biggie and Julio entertained us every minute we were in this house. They were hilarious. I captured some cat tree antics.

Date: 2022-09-01 05:06 pm (UTC)How I miss my favorite conveyor belt sushi place in San Francisco. Actually, the place we went had an oval "canal" set in the huge oval counter. (The sushi chef was in the middle). Sushi was conveyed to you by way of a mechanism that pulled little "barges" bearing sushi through the water in the canal. You just picked what you wanted, and the type of tray indicated the price. At the end of the night, you paid whatever a stack of red trays cost, or red and purple, etc. Good times.
I'm hungry now.
