My nephew went for his supervised COVID test this morning and was negative!!! Finally. Whew. He never did test negative with the home tests. And his wife never did test positive at all. So they were able to get onto the boat which is where they are now.

I really have less than zero desire to get on a boat with a million people under any circumstances but after dropping them off this morning and seeing all those people and all their luggage and all the cattle drive-ness of the process, I now want to go on a cruise way less than I didn't want to go before.

But they were excited and I hope they have a wonderful time and I'm so glad they didn't have to fly back home today.

We returned the rental car and life is way more simple with one, very small, very manageable car to deal with and on the two of us peops. The cats, I'm sure, miss Cyndi but they'll get over it and she'll be back.

Bill and I went to BECU to add him onto one of my accounts. Had I added him when I created the account, it would have been dirt simple and taken a nano second. Adding him after the fact took forfuckingever but it's done and he got his PIN reset and all is fine. We picked up some lunch and now are home. The cats are asleep and Bill is resting and I am here in my usual spot.

The air conditioner is off and the quiet is fabulous but it's nearly too warm. I'm pretty sure it's going to have to come on soonish.

We have lots of sports coming up. The Serena's next match starts at 4 and so does the Mariner game. We can deal. I'm enjoying it all.

Lovely days.

thank you for adding me

and may i just say -- upon poking around your journal, profile, etc.
i just find you SO fascinating.
i love your two cats. the webcam thing you have going on is so incredibly fascinating to me also. you're just so used to it, you said. i don't know how i would get used to that... or maybe it's that i'm such a weirdo in the first place, that i just know someone would click the link only to see me standing on my couch in my underwear using a ladle as a microphone and singing a christmas ballad..... in the middle of summer. or something.
i saw that you were on LJ for 20 years. that's incredible to me.
i created my first online journal on LJ in 2000-2001. i updated daily, moved to xanga, and updated there daily until the change they made on their site. i saved all my archived entries and had the option to upload them on wordpress and continue there, but i just didn't like the feel of it, so i just kept my entires for safe keeping. from there, i poked around on and off on LJ, insanejournal, scribbld, (which are all comparable to LJ/or here) - i just never knew about DW until much later somehow. apart from online, i have religiously always kept a hand-written journal. i have a giant black trunk of them; all full. my current one is about to be full, and i've already picked out my next one on amazon. ♥ i just love to find people who are super into journaling and blogging the way i am. i sometimes feel like it's a lost art, and severely underrrated. it seems nowadays people are content just uploading a quick blurb here or there, or a picture with some subliminal caption. i'm also guilty of those two: twitter and instagram... but i've always kept, and always will keep a blog. i'm so glad i recently found my way to DW finally. i really like it here and plan to stay.
all of that to say, thank you for adding me.
i am so happy to get to know more about you, because you are an interesting soul.
:)

OH MY GOSH I AM FREAKING OUT A LITTLE BIT BECAUSE I AM FROM GREENVILLE.
it's such a small, small world.
definitely jellybears of you living in seattle, it has to be said.
i'm not a fan of too much rain -- but would gladly sacrifice for a more open-minded, liberal, free spirited population instead of a bunch of bible thumping bigots. don't necessarily mean to offend anyone who reads that, but it's more of a "sorry not sorry, i said what i said" type of thing. hahaha

i also super am into your home decor. the colors, the cat tower, etc.

I don't see the appeal of cruises either, especially now. We have been on one as a gift to my in-laws for their 50th anniversary. It is NOT my preferred mode of travel.

My mom added me to her accounts a few weeks ago. It took about 40 minutes and the signing of so many pads (as they store the signature cards digitally now). We'd had had enough of being in strange inside by the time we were done.

I'm glad your nephew tested negative and was able to take his cruise.

Personally, I'd rather be hit in the head with a hammer than take a cruise. UGH!

For one horrific moment I thought seeing everybody excited about getting on their cruise had converted you to cruising. Then I got to the end of the sentence. Phew! I'm glad your nephew got to go though.
