go soak your feet
Sep. 7th, 2022 12:27 pm
The bottom of my feet are a mess. The skin on one has hardened to the point that it hurts to walk. The other isn't that much better. Creams and gel socks have helped but it was time to soak.
Amazon sent me these soaking shoes and they really are great. You don't need as much water (so carrying a sloshing pan/bucket is no more).
I'm almost half way done with laundry!

Date: 2022-09-07 09:36 pm (UTC)What size are your feet, and what size did you order? (my feet are size 8) How long does the water stay warm? I soak for about 15 min.

Date: 2022-09-08 02:17 pm (UTC)[Edit: for those with large hooves, like mine, the link above isn't the least expensive option for precisely the same thing. Amazon carries basically the same foot soaking shoes from at least 4 vendors; Susan linked to the only one offering the smallest size, which works for her. My size 9/11 hooves wouldn't fit those, and the cheapest price for the large size was here. ]

Date: 2022-09-08 02:53 pm (UTC)These are the prices I get today:
Your link $30
My link $26
The ones I bought $33
Amazon pricing is really fascinating.
I had kind of hoped that people who were interested would do as you did - shop around and find the best for them if they were interested. There are a lot of vendors offering them at different sizes and colors and prices, of course.

Date: 2022-09-08 03:50 pm (UTC)This time, it was notable that their ability to find similar products from other vendors was erratic; the ones I bought didn't appear until after I put a more expensive but otherwise identical pair in my shopping cart.
If I'd known what to call the things, I'd have tried google; it's much better at finding the amazon link for a specific book (given author and title) than Amazon ever is; Amazon will try to convince you to buy a different, sponsored, book, probably in the same basic genre, and only grudgingly link to the one you want. I presume the same is true for other types of item, but it's merely less obvious.

Date: 2022-09-08 03:53 pm (UTC)Next time, maybe follow the link and get the 'what to call it' from the link and then go to Google to search if you like their results better.

Date: 2022-09-08 03:57 pm (UTC)Making me (the customer) feel scammed or cheated - e.g. by charging people different prices for the same item - is something else entirely.
Ditto wasting the customer's time.

Date: 2022-09-08 03:55 pm (UTC)Every size other than small is much higher, but your link went to small, blue, at least for me.
