I woke up this morning with two cats snuggled in next to me. It was the best way to wake up. I got onto the treadmill and did half. The Jeopardy I picked was not a Ken Jennings one (they are all reruns now) and it was hot in the bedroom so I gave myself a half day off. Then I came out of the bedroom to get coffee and feed these wonderful creatures and found this. queue up error WAV

And the dirt was not completely dry dirt. ARUGH!

The couch cover is removable and washable and I have another just like it for backup so not tragic but, Julio, I thought we discussed this!! Oh well.

So, there will be more laundry doings today. Ha!

Matt and Cyndi come back from their cruise tomorrow. They get off the boat early and can't get into their hotel room until late (probably). They will be here until Monday. So today is my day of quiet. Now it will be clean up and quiet.

I may well have solved my news problem. I like to watch national TV news but the 30 minute evening news - regardless of network - has issues and the cable news channels with their blinking, picture in picture, BREAKING NEWS, kryons drive me up a wall in under 60 seconds.

But, on my new YouTubeTV, I found an ABC News Live First and NBC News NOW. They are streaming news channels that seem to be free from screaming and drama with news readers who don't suck. When one slips into something I don't want to see, I flip to the other. I have it on right now but with mute and close captioned. I can keep up and it's painless. I may have my problem solved.

I am sorry about the queen. Right now they are showing the gates to Balmoral and I have rain envy. I hope her last days are how she would want them to be. She deserves it.

I think I'd better get the couch cover replaced now, before Julio decides to grind the dirt in more than it already is. He looks so angelic now but, I'm thinking time like this is limited.

Julio! For shame. No wonder they were being so nice to you this morning, hee hee.

I am so very sad about the Queen, what a long run she has had and what an incredible hard worker and service to her country she has given!

Well someone had a good party last night! :D I'm glad the cover is washable and that you have a spare.

The Queen is still with us but I am devastated that the end is near. I was one year old when she became Queen. I have known no other head of state (well, apart from my first year when her father was King George VI). A remarkable woman who understands the meaning of a promise and duty.

I hope Julio grows out of his obsession with those poor houseplants!

I hadn't heard about the Queen. I share your wishes.

I don't like the news at all. I subscribe to charity and local newsletters that tell me about things I might actually be willing & able to do something about, and for the rest I just assume if it's genuinely important enough everyone will be talking about it. I was a little horrified to hear about how you watch 30 mins of national news a day, but I'm glad to hear you have a solution for it. But I guess that's how you hear about my head of state taking ill before me!

Oh Julio! You little Minx.

So far the YouTube TV has been a win for us too! Great suggestion.

this is why *i* don't have plants. I can't even have cut flowers. Bonnie thinks they are salad. What's right for one isn't necessarily right for another.

And ...the Queen. Bless her.

The Queen went downhill so fast ... I am wondering if she had some sort of pulmonary embolism. I thought that at one brief moment this morning, someone said something about her having trouble breathing. She looked hale enough for a 96-year-old when she received Liz Truss. May Her Majesty rest in peace.

Could you get a small hot house for the plants and put them on your balcony to survive the winter ?

Removable, washable couch covers really are the best when one has cats. :)

Julio's lucky he's cute and cuddly. What a mess! Glad at least it's washable and you have a spare.

I can't bear to watch the news. I read all of my news online.

RIP Queen Elizabeth.

Cats are the best Susan. Even if your furbabies drive you nuts at times. :)
