Rolling with the punches
Sep. 9th, 2022 07:06 amMy nephew and his wife (Matt and Cyndi) will be here some time today. I guess.
They are not planners. They waited until they were checking out of the hotel last week to make reservations for when they got back. And they got the last room. This would have taught me to plan ahead. This taught them that they have luck on their side.
They have known for weeks that they will dock this morning at 8 am. I'm guessing they have zero idea now (7:15 am) what they are going to do when they get ashore. They know I no longer have the rental car so can't pick them up. They know that they will not be able to get into their room until 4. And, I'll bet they have not given any of that a single thought.
But, likely they will somehow get here to my place sooner than later.
They are young and able to take care of themselves so I'm not going to worry about it. I'll be ready, just in case.
The condo association voted to pay up last night. So at least that drama is done. Until time to set dues for next year which should be in October but this board was 3 months late last year and probably will be this year so who knows. The payment is due November 1.
I found a place to get an appointment for shots - COVID booster and flu shot. Next week.
I got yesterday's dirt all cleaned up. Not an easy task. It's against condo laws to shake shit over the edge of the balcony so when I got the cover off, I shook it onto the balcony carpet. Then I set the robot vacuum to work out there. Worked great. It washed up fine and all is back in place.
After breakfast this morning, the cats went into the bedroom, under the bed for a quick nap. It's their usual routine. This morning, I watched them on the under-the-bed cam and was struck by how huge Julio has gotten. His next visit to the vet is soon and I'll bet he weighs in at 7 or 8 pounds. My baby's growing up.
He still follows Biggie around everwhere. And it still cracks me up.
I think I'll get into the shower and get ready for visitors in case I get visitors.
