susandennisMy nephew is a sports fan - particularly baseball. His wife is a good sport and enjoys just being. So I was delighted to take them to a Mariners game. We had good seats and they were impressed. Julio (the baseball player, no the kitten) hit a home run in the first inning and then the Mariners got more runs.
It was all good.
Until the 9th inning. The Braves got a boatload of runs. 1 more, actually than we had. Not good. At all. Then in the bottom of the 9th inning, Julio (the baseball player, not the kitten) hit another home run to tie it. And then another Mariner hit the winning run.
It was spectacular. We came home and watched the last inning on TV and the broadcasters said they had never seen such a thrilling game in all their baseball years.
It was fun fun fun. Oh and Matt had asked me earlier in the week how are stadium roof worked and did they have to stop the game to close it, etc.
In the 8th inning of today's game, because rain was in the forecast, they closed the roof. He didn't even notice at first so I had to show him. They don't stop the game. It's so gradual, you could be like him and not even notice.
It was all so perfect. We came home for a bit and then headed out for some dinner. We weren't really that hungry and stopped into a new place which was open and not crowded and weird but fine for what we needed.
They walked me home and then headed back to the hotel. I'm going to meet them there tomorrow to say bye.
It's been a great fun visit all around.
Biggie and Julio (the kitten not the baseball player) are looking at me like 'where is everybody else????'
Tough boys, it's just us for a while.
Tomorrow I plan to do nothing all damn day. Even the Mariners have the day off.
