Biggie and Julio woke me up this morning. At 5. This is not something they do every day, thankfully, so I don't really mind. I'm pretty sure the plan was to get breakfast. But, it's back to the treadmill today so their plan was foiled.

I treadmill to Jeopardy which also started it's new season today (well last night) so I had a lovely walk while the two cats waited impatiently.

Now they are breakfasted. Julio is in the cat tree and Biggie is in his spot on top of the cabinet. All is fine.

I have an appointment this morning for the latest COVID booster and a flu shot. I also have two Amazon returns which is kinda on the way.

Tonight is my second to last Diamond Club game. I need to charge up my chariot mobility scooter and pick out my Mariners shirt du jour. Also get my jacket and put it on the scooter so I don't forget.

The high today will be 73. Later in the week, it will get even better. Highs in the 60's with rain!

I always have closed captions on my TV. It's just easier. Yeah, it takes up screen real estate, but it also means I can capture the words spoken more easily. Both my brother and my nephew bitched about it covering up stuff they wanted to see so I turned it off. Well, yesterday, I had a bitch of a time getting it back on. I was trying to watch a show on Amazon Prime and I turned it on and it flipped off again - over and over and over again.

I finally rebooted the TV and got it turned on at the Roku level and then Amazon was happy. Stuff like that should not be that hard. I always think about old people and how frustrated they must get. Then I remember that I'm old people!

I did find a good new series to latch on to. White Dragon (Amazon Prime).

I also finished a really good book last night. Old Baggage by Lisa Evans. It's not my usual read but it was just delightful from beginning to end. It would be a great bookclub book if anyone is in the market for such a thing.

Remember a couple of months ago when Julio was just a baby?

I forgot to get the flu shot! Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the book rec. You might enjoy Back to The Garden by Laurie King.

Julio just keeps getting cuter.

Welcome! She has a new sleuth, who, like Kate Martinelli, is a gay woman cop in the Bay Area. Other than that, not much similarity. Except that I'm loving this book as much as her previous Kate Martinelli books. Back to The Garden has an estate that's pretty heavily modeled on the Hearst Castle, and a skull turns up. Which puts me in mind of Tana French's The Witch Elm, which is also excellent.

I think Tana French may be my favorite author. The Likeness rocks immoderately.

YAY Jeopardy! :) Time got away from me and I hadn't realized it was back on.

We always have the closed captioning on, too, because I don't hear very well. I probably need hearing aids, but I'm putting it off as long as possible. (It was 7 years ago that I had all the testing done and the doctor said I didn't need them YET. :P ) My mom complains about the closed captioning, too, because she can't see it, so to her it's the visual version of white noise.

Cute kitten Julio! Although bigger Julio is cute, too.

There are two more books by Lissa Evans that are linked together by Noel Bostock, Crooked Heart and V for Victory. I liked them a lot, too.

And then there's Their Finest Hour and Half, another very good one. It was also made into a good (TV?) movie.

I'm still here for the cat and Susan pics and stories every day! Thank you for sharing!
