Holy Moly. First off I go to get my booster and flu shot. Bartell's used to be this great little drug store chain. Their people were great, their stores were lovely, their pharmacy was efficient.

Last week, Matt needed some over the counter drugs. He, Bill and I went to a nicer Bartell's location. The inventory was sparse but we found what we needed. In a locked cabinet. It took 3 or 4 tries - walking all over the store - to get someone to come unlock so we could spend money. It was not a fun experience.

Their vaccine scheduling, though, is great. So I scheduled today's booster and flu shot. Very clearly scheduling the latest booster and the old people flu shot. No problem, said the schedule software.

Of course, I get there today and wait 5 minutes at the pharmacy service window to be told by a pharmacist that they have neither the booster or the old people flu shot. "Maybe in a month."

There's a really nice Bartell's in West Seattle. They get one try after the bridge opens next week. That will be the third strike. I'm over 'em.

CVS bought the chain a few years ago and have, apparently, successfully, slaughtered it.

On the way home, I passed a local Vietnamese pharmacy that had a banner saying they had all the vaccines. So I pulled in there. Really nice guy said they do shots from 10-2 on Tuesdays and Fridays but the booster was due in today and wouldn't be in the system until probably 1. I said I'd be back on Friday at 10 and he said 'GREAT! See you then'.

Then I got a text from my nephew, Matt. Cyndi tested positive for COVID this morning. Uh oh.

I tested me when I got home. Big old fat negative. Whew. I'm sorry she has it but I hope she got it in the airport. If I feel fine (which I intend to), I'll test again maybe Thursday.

Meanwhile the front door call system failed and I missed my Dinnerly delivery. I ran down there as fast as I could but he was long gone by the time I got to the front door. Delivery people, in general, do not carry enough spoons for failure recovery. I'm used to it and it's fine. Particularly in this case. They will deliver tomorrow and it will be fine.

It's still not as cool out as it should be. Grrrr I want Fall and I want it now!!

I think I'll have a half a balogna sandwich instead. Then save the rest of my hungry for the game tonight.

I've heard lots of unfortunate things about various Bartell's locations from Seattle friends since they were bought out. I'm glad you found a place to get your shots, though, and I hope your day evens out to a positive from here!

I hope to the mother cat in the sky that you do NOT have Covid, shudder.

Sending good thoughts!

I think airports are the usual culprit for catching Covid.

I quit going to Bartell's even though my sister works at one. Between the Rite Aid take over, and the worker shortage, that chain has really gone downhill.
