This is how it should be
Sep. 20th, 2022 08:31 amFor years, before the pandemic shut everything down, I set my alarm for 4:30 am. Got up, went to the pool, had my swim and was home by 7 am - Monday-Friday. (the pool doesn't open til 8 on weekends.)
If I did not get on the bridge before 7, I sat in traffic there for ages. Often 6:30 was dicey. Traffic going to Seattle from West Seattle did not clear out much usually until about 11.
But then they sent everyone home and the bridge broke. Now, two and a half years later, the bridge is open but traffic is way different. It's early days but I'm still going to take advantage.
I had kind of intended to swim tomorrow. But, this morning I woke up and dosed and stretched and thought about my day then thought, I feel like swimming right now! It was 5:30. So, much to the cats' dismay, instead of feeding them, I hopped into my suit and hit the road.
I forgot to tell my watch I was swimming until I was about half way done. I was thinking on the way home, I swam 1/2 for me and 1/2 for my health. Which is fair.
The ride home was clear sailing all the way. What a joy to have a nice, uncrowded pool (not treated with chlorine), an easy ride away and available when I want to swim. Sure can't ask for more in that category!
I didn't see anyone I knew in the gym. Nobody. Wonder if they all gave up. There was one guy who was there every single day for 1.5-2 hours from the minute they opened. I didn't see him Sunday or today. Maybe he's on vacation.
I have officially decided not to buy Mariner playoff tickets. Yesterday, they announced that the new Google watch will be $350-400. That's 5.5 innings of one game. I'd rather have the watch and see the game on TV.
And here's a situation. I sold one of my Diamond Club tickets on Stubhub. It was an afternoon game on a hot and way too sunny day. My payment was $360. Stubhub takes forever to pay up so I finally got it yesterday. Twice. Yep, two deposits of $360 each.
I have tried contacting their customer service before and it was an amazingly painful process at which I had zero success. So there is no way in hell I'm going to try to contact them to tell them of their error. My plan is to sit on it and if they don't come get it in a month, I'll use it to buy $360 worth of fun stuff the Mary's Place (a very cool local resource for women in crisis) wish list on Amazon.
I have no plans for today - beyond the baseball game tonight. I do need to find some compelling TV series to latch on to. I'm kind of caught up right now but know there's more out there to be found. And it's not like I don't have a biscillion services to pick from.
Guess I'll get started... but, first just look at these sweet dumplin's - all tuckered out from knocking things over.
