[personal profile] somedayseattle is always talking about being able to turn on a baseball game and see the highlight live. Morphing him, and tired of the national news, I clicked on the Yankee Blue Jay game, mainly to see what the score was. I love the Blue Jays but I would not mind if they lost tonight.

I was at the sink washing dishes when Judge came up to bat. I turned to look. He hit 61 out of the park. That's enough Yankees for me.

My stamina is getting weird on me.

Tuesday, in the afternoon, I put together one of the Dinerly dinners and it wore me right out. I did not even have enough energy to do it all in one go. I had to take a break and sit and rest. I mean it just wiped me out.

Today, in the afternoon, I put together one of the Dinerly dinners and I was fine - even went a bonus round. I went to grab the cleaning spray to do the counters, and spied something funky under the sink. Never good.

Upon massive further investigation which involved pulling everything out from under the sink, something leaked. I think it was vinegar but I'm not sure but it made a crusted mess all over. I got it all cleaned out and put everything back and finished washing the dishes and cleaning the counter and then vacuumed the floor of the mess that all the cleaning made.

Then I had to rest. But I feel fine now. Some days are fine and some days are not. No idea what determines.

Thanks to Boston, the Mariner magic number is 4. Right now, they lead Texas 2-1 but it's still the 1st inning.

I always made lasagna for my Dad's birthday dinner and I always made it a week early and froze it because it tasted better if it had already been cooked once. One year, I was ill (turned out I had a norovirus) but I really wanted to get that lasagna together and baked. I had to rest between every layer. Of course later I discovered I had a temp of 104, and Mom took me to urgent care. Your post here made me think of that. (BTW,the lasagna was great. I am a good cook.)

That stamina thing sounds wretched. Sometimes I think that the only good thing about aging is that it's better than the alternative (death).

OTOH, your stamina problem might not be age related. Many of my random health issues are probably related to ongoing treatments intended to discourage last year's cancer from coming back, rather than to aging per se. E.g. I just discovered that my aches are probably a medication side effect rather than arthritis. (That's good, because I only need to take that drug for a bit less than four more years.)

I think the better alternative can eventually be death. But not yet; things aren't anywhere near that bad for me. I hope they don't become that bad for you either, for a long time. And either way, whatever we want, we are born mortal, and so will die eventually.
