Forgive me, for I have facebooked

I have spent every single year since Facebook was invented taking a morally superior NFW attitude about it. I made up a name and created a gmail account and joined to see what it was like. I saw, I left. I turned up my nose.

Over the years I have been excluded from some stuff that I wanted access to, but nothing huge or consequential.

About a year ago, forgetting the first adventure, I did the same thing again. I set up a bunch of settings (mostly saying no to everything) and promptly got locked out forever. Ok.

But, this week, there have been two times when I wanted access to something in Facebook. So fuck it. When I went to try again, it gave me the option of using that old made up name and email and so why not?

I requested to join some neighborhood groups and other groups and then fell down a video rabbit hole (hacks, you've never thought of!!). I can't remember what else I wanted it for.

I probably will log in again in a few months.

The Mariners just won again. Plus they spent much of the game showing videos from last night's AfterTheGame which was fun.

Julio is up next to the food bowls looking for and early dinner. Guess I'll go feed him.

But, before I go...

I hate Facebook. Very rarely, I want to look at something, but not enough to jump through their hoops. Plus, they are limp as a limp thing when it comes to policing hate speech. Flaccid!

I also hate FB; I use it as a place to crosspost GoingSideways blog posts, to keep in touch with several people who have it as their only point of contact, and because one of my two grief support groups is there.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. I mostly use mine to keep in contact with friends and family. Every once in a while, I'll post something, but it's become much less over the years
