Payday Monday
Oct. 3rd, 2022 08:39 amI get three checks every month (Social Security, IBM pension (small) and small payout from my investments). Two of the three landed this morning so I feel rich. This lasted for exactly 5 minutes. Because then I got the email from the USPS which shows that the bill for the condo assessment is in today's mail. It will be just under $12,000.
Google announces new phone and watch on Thursday.
And boom. I am no longer rich. Oh well, easy come, easy go.
Julio is playing hide and seek on the couch with his invisible friend. Biggie is watching and judging.
It is hot again and smokey again. I haven't been out of here since I got back from the game last Thursday. I was thinking yesterday that today I should go somewhere but today, nope. I'm not going out in that smoke. It was a 'should' not a 'wanna' anyway.
And this hot is not fun. I keep saying that this is the last hot day or the last hot week and still more comes. I've got sweaters dying to come out and play.
I got an analog timer plug and set up my router to reboot every night at 1 am. It was losing wifi multiple times a day randomly. Since the plug (3 nights), it has not dropped one single time. win.
Tonight is the last baseball game of the season that starts as a night game. Tomorrow's game(s), a double header, starts at 3 and will go into the night and then Wednesday, the last game, starts at 1. The latest a playoff game will start is 5. Thank you, east coast.
I'm reading my second James Sallis. My brother found him and he is a fascinating find. The first - Sarah Jane. A great book and a great character. Now I'm reading Willnot. Many great characters in this one. Both would probably be even more enjoyable in word books but I'm audio only these days. I highly recommend either way.
Time to get this day started, but first...
Last night, Julio tried to make the top seat on the tree into a two seater.

At least Julio's the smaller one. My cats are sisters but one's quite big and fat compared to the other. Stacking in one direction is a fluffy blanket for her. The other way around...!

Date: 2022-10-03 08:51 pm (UTC)Ouch! That's a big assessment. Will people have the option of paying it over time or do they have to come up with it all at once?
Julio looks comfy. lol

Date: 2022-10-03 08:58 pm (UTC)Yes, you can pay in four or five (I forget) installments with a $21 surcharge on each OR they will float you a loan over, I think, five years at at some handsome interest.
We are also probably looking at a fat increase in dues. happy condo times here. hope yours are better!

Date: 2022-10-05 04:53 pm (UTC)Your condo assessment, yikes! Well, houses cost a lot too. We just dropped a bundle on painting our house and new gutters and it was a whopping $8K. And we need a bathroom re-done. So in that respect, it isn't that bad.
