I 'think' it's done
Oct. 6th, 2022 10:41 amBefore I left the house, I sent a DM to the Astound (name of cable TV co) asking them if I need to call AND deliver the cards or just go to the office and deliver and close account.
They said the office could take care of it all.
So off I went. No waiting.
Nice guy asks me for my phone number. I explain I wanted TV canceled and handed him my cards. He took the cards, gave me a receipt and handed me a business card and said I'd have to call that number to cancel because I was a business. I explained that I was not. He said he couldn't do it.
I go out to the car and call the number. The nice lady said she could not cancel because my account was not a business account. She transferred me - it was very painful and took a long time.
The next lady said she could not hear me. She called me back to tell me she could not cancel me because I was not a business but she would transfer me. WTF???? I explained the hoops I had been through and asked her to double check. She did. Nope. She'd transfer.
Another painful lengthy transfer. To Olga who did not speak great English but, turns out, did speak great customer service. She looked up my account and said "you TV service has already been canceled, they didn't tell you?"
She volunteered to look up what my new bill would be and apologized all over the place and we ended up friends.
But, I am so glad to be off that freakin' hook. And, honestly, the internet side is down to their last strike. I have lovely options in this building so just fuck with me one more time...
Oh and I forgot to report the latest Mariner ticket hilarity.
They told me I had to buy my season ticket seat by September 22 or lose it? Well... today I get an email with 4 paragraphs of blah blah blah blah and then a message telling me that I have until November 1 to buy it or I will lose it.
Having a tough time selling those $9K tickets, eh?
Ok, now I have to go watch videos and read reviews of the hardware I bought this morning. These guys have had it for a week but were embargo'd. Now they can talk about it. And I want info!
