Trying to focus on the positive
Oct. 8th, 2022 06:39 amI still have no internet - well, no broadband internet. Yesterday, they said it would be back at 6:30, 8 pm, 10 pm. I went to sleep. This morning they are saying it will be back at 9 am. (It's now 6:45.)
I've been using my phone's hotspot capabilities which are limited. I have enough data already paid for to maybe take me through the ballgame today. I can buy more for $20 - very easily. So there's no tragedy. There's only massive inconvenience.
I couldn't get my bedroom ceiling fan on last night. It is controlled by a hub that works via the wifi which is dead. I finally found a remote and gave it fresh batteries and it turned the light on but not the fan and wouldn't turn the light off. I dug some more and found another remote and finally got the light off and the fan on.
The tech person from the cable company is still set to be here between 8-10. I'm sure not cancelling that!
I went to sleep early last night because I was tired and frustrated and tired of being frustrated. I slept great. (Of course my bed will not be reporting how great I slept because... the wifi it connects to is dead.) My Fitbit agrees with me about the sleeping.
My hotspot is great except it cannot power my home network. And so I'm missing an arm here. Or a leg. Or both.
I have electricity but so much of my life is now enriched by connectivity, that electricity alone, while way better than not, is no longer enough. I keep trying to do things that require my now dead network.
Pro tip. Staring at the modem does not fix it.
I guess I'll go get dressed and ready for the tech guy. Sigh.
