not very hot spotty

The tech guy came out to fix it. He found no signal. He went to the garage to check the connections. He could not find the box. BUT, apparently many of my neighbors who have the same service found him! He was pelted with questions and demands. So he called HQ and learned what I could have told him at 4 yesterday when they finally acknowledged that it was not my equipment but theirs.
He said broken fiber, no ETA. I called just now and they are saying the ETA is 1 pm. I believe him. He also said that more than likely, my modem will just burst to life without my having to do anything, once the system is restored. Good to know.
My hotspot (MintMobile powered by T-Mobile) was pretty rock solid yesterday and today is flaky as a croissant. So with plenty of time on my hands, I decided to pull out the sim card I found the other day for US Mobile (which is powered by Verizon). But, before I could get it going, I figured out that using my phone's e-Sim would probably be smarter. It took some finegalling but I finally got an account and got it set u p and then couldn't get the hotspot to work. But, their customer service chat - after a long time - got it going. (It took a long time but the guy stayed with me and made sure.)
It's just about as flaky but at least now I have plenty of data. I may have to watch the game on my phone but at least I can watch it.
I gave more than a passing thought to calling Comcast and see if there was anyway to switch to them before 1 pm today. But then I got a hold of myself and told myself not to be ridiculous. I have electricity. I have food. I have my phone. I have now, two different cell services. I need to get a grip.
Biggie thinks I need to feed him so I guess I will.
PS There is good news. I was perilously out of kitty litter. Amazon was scheduled to deliver some on Monday but it was not looking like I was going to make it that long... and then Amazon delivered it today!!!
