susandennisLast night I went to sleep at 9 and woke up at 6 and don't remember even waking up for a minute in between. I usually get up a couple of times to pee. No peeing. The cats knocked over a lamp right next to my head and I didn't stir. I slept GOOD.
Today there is smoke still in the air. It's ok, I don't need or want to go anywhere.
I thought today was going to be Replace The Smart Plugs day. I ordered a bunch of the good kind to replace the crap ones but then I remembered I picked $1 e-bonus for delivery later. They will be here next Monday. No prob.
I got an email from SteveTheLawyer this morning. He says the investment situation should be settled in a couple of weeks. I think he uses form emails. Writes one, sends it out every six weeks or so. I'm getting tired of hearing the same song.
He did have a paragraph this time about the house. It seems he has two offers. One for $88,000 and one for $90,000. The latter is for cash, buy now, as is, no inspection.
But, it has an appraisal (no inspection) price of $110,000 (Heck, Zillow says it's worth $134k.) Steve suggests we could set up an LLC to buy the house as partners and just hold onto it for a few years to see how the market goes. What the fuck is he smoking??????
I wrote back and suggested we take the money and run TODAY!! and be grateful for it. SamTheFriend hasn't chimed in yet. But he told me more than a month ago, he wanted to take the first offer we got.
I do not think SteveTheLawyer is trying to do anything shady. He's just in no hurry to close this thing out. I, on the other hand, am not getting any younger and neither is SamTheFriend. SamTheFriend has seemed even more interested than I am on finalizing the estate. Wonder if either of us will live long enough.
My watch and phone have moved from "processing" to "prepared to ship". I'm hoping to get the shipping notice tomorrow and the goods on Wednesday. But, while Google has gotten better about shipping shit, their shipping partners change every year and that 'last mile' is a killer. It would have been cheaper for me to buy it from Amazon but they are still showing a delivery date of next Monday and while their shipping promises are far more solid, I can't wait that long.
I just discovered that the Canadian Bake off shows are on YouTube in full length. That's fun. I may watch some of those today.
I'm halfway through a pretty interesting read, too. Sugar Street by Jonathon Dee. Trying to disappear digitally and otherwise.
I used to live in a house that was on the corner of Easy Street and Whiskey Road. It was yellow. The town was small (Aiken, SC) and the intersection was famous. It was the opposite of trying to disappear. "You live around here?" "In the yellow house at Whiskey Road and Easy Street." "ahhh cool." Everyone knew it.
The next baseball game is noon tomorrow. Us against Huston. I haven't decided what to wear yet.

I'm also not a fan of celebrity shows - but it helps that I don't recognize ANY of the celebrities on the show :D
