Getting there
Oct. 14th, 2022 02:51 pmIt is now 3 pm and except for two things, I have spent the day deep down and dirty with the phone and the watch.
I killed an enormous amount of time with the financial. Getting my credit cards set up on the phone and on the watch. They were all broken to hell last night. Messages said they needed validating and one said I needed to call the bank. So, like an idiot, I did.
Citi bank has no humans to talk to. I mean you can hold for one, but if you are over the age of 50, you will not live long enough to hear their voice.
Capital One has a teensy telephone tree and I got a very nice, helpful person very quickly. But she said they did not need to verify and had no way to do so. She was really nice about it, tho.
I got my two most used cards/accounts set up without issue and just figured screw the rest.
30 minutes later, I tried again. But, this time when I went into Google Wallet, all of my cards and accounts were there just like I wanted. They most have sync'd behind my back.
I have a gin rummy app that I've been playing for years. I paid $6 way back when. Now they want another $6 and that kind of pisses me off so there may be some shopping. They ain't the only gin rummy app around.
I'm getting friendly with the watch. I don't have the watch face of my dreams yet but I do have one that I like. And I have apps on the watch (like Keep) that I could never get on my Sense. And, everything is just more easy on the Pixel watch than it was on the Fitbit Sense. And since they use the same app, much does not change at all.
In fairness, I love this shit. I still have hours I can spend arranging and rearranging stuff on both the phone and the watch. I think I might leave it for now and do some old lady crochet while watching some idiot TV. Just for a change.
SamTheFriend called today. The good news was that I needed someone to call to test my phone set up. Sure enough, I'd forgotten to flip a switch and it rang on the old phone, not the new one. I fixed that. And assured Sam that we were on the same page and agreeing on stuff.
I also made up one of my Dinnerly meals. It was pretty much a fail. Ok for one meal but just barely. No biggie. But, I'm not sorry I canceled them.
The air still sucks. It's too hot to close the door (to the outside) so it's probably still getting to me. And it does not look like it's going to get much better soon.

So, it's a good thing I have plenty to entertain me right here.
