A Safeway throwback
Oct. 22nd, 2022 11:29 amWe have Safeways all over this town and most are really gross. Inside and out. They are dirty, ill stocked and poster stores for staffing shortages.
But, today I went to the big one in West Seattle. I hadn't been there since before March of 2020. Pandemic and bridge broke.
It's clean and tidy and nice - inside and out. There were a lot of missing products - I'm looking at you, wet cat food. BUT they had far more inventory variety than any other grocery I've been in for the past 3 years. It was a very pleasant shopping experience and I didn't even buy too much!
Oh and for the first time I can ever remember, I cleaned out the fridge before I went. Lots o' room to stash stuff when I got home. Go Me!
Fancy Feast is apparently having another shortage of gravy lovers can stuff. Amazon doesn't even have the seafood variety. But, when I got home, I scored some on Walmart and even used my gift card I got for steps from my health insurance company.
Which reminds me. I got one hilarious letter from them this week. It said that since I had instructed them to contact me by email and not by phone, they needed a valid email address. "The only one we have is susandennis@gmail.com" (This is a very valid email address.) The letter further instructed me that if this email address was, indeed, correct, I should call them. And gave the number to their massive telephone tree.
They crack me up.
