susandennisLast August, I ordered a heat pump to be installed in my condo. The guy told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get the hardware. "So, you'll be installing before Thanksgiving?" "yep!"
He also promised he'd be my go to for the whole process and would not ghost me.
Cut to 8 weeks out - Yo Matthew, what's the word??
He said the hardware was in and they call me for installation arrangements in a few days.
A few days go by and then some more and then Thanksgiving. Hello?? Matthew??
Today he responds that we waiting for the city permit. And he makes the near fatal error of adding that there are two units in this building for whom they filed in March who are still waiting.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?????? You knew this in August and led me to believe that I'd have my installation in 8 weeks??? Not cool, Matthew, Not cool.
So here we are - apparently in the final stages of the process, thankgod. He's playing the innocent - "we don't have any control over the city's process" - maybe you might look into getting some!
He says we are in the 'final stages' and implies the permit should be issued soon.
I do not want to pull the plug but I hate being duped more than anything. On the other hand, he has been very very responsive and I told him I did appreciate that. But, still grrrrrrrr.
I have so little patience with shit like this. And so little patience with people in my house doing stuff.
This is the reason why I have old, broken down kitchen cabinets and walls that need fresh paint and a host of other things I'd love to have done around here and have the money to do. But not the patience.
