On the calendar in ink
Dec. 2nd, 2022 11:32 amOk so my Friday morning swim/aerobics is now an official thing. The aerobics instructor still sucks but I'm hooked anyway.
It was snow giant flakes when I left and I wondered about the wisdom of going but fuck it. I didn't want to wait another week. I went a different, better way, through the tunnel. By the time I came out of the other end - on the other side of downtown from here - the snow was rain and mist at that. So good decision!
I got to the pool a half hour before class and there was only one guy swimming. Next week I might even go earlier since no waiting. I had a great swim. I was kind of thinking the weather might stop the other people in the class since they are all old like me. But, nope. There were more this week than last! And not all of them old. Most, but not all.
After class, I got a wild hair to stop into a biscuit place. I'd been there a couple of times years ago and saw they were open so why not? It was anther great decision. The place was warm and cozy with great coffee. I took a seat at the bar where they had an actual old timey paper copy of The Seattle Times and I read that while I waited for breakfast which was delicious.

(And note that following from the front page, I'm finishing up the cutting edge piece on Seattle dog names by zip code. Only the finest journalism here.)
So... Friday mornings, swim, aerobics, biscuits. There cannot be a better plan.
But somehow I keep thinking it's Saturday.
There is no more snow or rain right now but dang, it's chilly - inside and out!
Yesterday's twice baked potatoes didn't get going but today they are in the oven for their first bake.
When Biggie was about the age that Julio is now, he developed a severe animosity towards rolled paper. He didn't unroll the toilet paper like most cats, oh no. He just clawed the thing to death. I'd find a whole roll of toilet paper shredded all over the bathroom. I had to make a toilet paper cover so I could have something to wipe with. Once, in the vets office, he shreddred their roll of paper towels.
After about a month, he moved on with his life and rolled paper products have returned to their state of safety.
Julio, has a different target. The waterpic. I have one of these wateric/toothbrush combos.
He's noodled out how to open up the lid on the tank and fling the water all over (I watched him do that the other day.) Then, when that gets old, he just knocked the whole thing over and the water goes everywhere, the tank and the brush end up in the sink. I currently have it wedged into place and I'm thinking about using gorilla tape if the wedge doesn't hold. I no longer keep it filled with water. I just fill as needed.
Hopefully in a month, he'll have moved on. Hopefully.
