The cookies at Trader Joe's turned out to be not interesting but there was lots of other interesting stuff. It's been forever since I've been in there.

Then on to Fancy where I'm really learning the ropes. I was initially enamored of their full meals but now I've learned that ala cart is the way to go. Also to scope out the buffet tables first. Today I found some wonderful looking skin-on teriyaki chicken thighs. And other good stuff.

Oh and there was a guy from the bakery out by the display. They have the most wonderful banana cake. I asked him if it was a special deal or regular and he assured me it was a core item so yeah!!! It's really moist and lighter than banana bread and has a nice layer of creamcheese/butter creeme icing on top. They sell it in squares and one square is two servings for me. I bought extra to see how it freezes.

Now all the groceries are sorted, repackaged, freezered or fridged and organized. I made a trip to the dumpster and now I'm trying to decide if I want to do laundry or save it until tomorrow. If you are laying odds, I'm seriously consider tomorrow.

a lot of the Trader Joe cookies are good but I miss the big giant chocolate chip cookies they used to sell, those were amazing.

My TJ's favorite is Oatmeal Cranberry Dunkers with White Fudge Drizzle. Thank God the nearest Trader Joe's is almost three hours away! 😇

THere's a Trader Joe's a mile from our new place – right on the edge of walking distance on a decent-weather day. We actually drove the one time we've been there so far because we needed a bunch of stuff and we weren't sure how far it was. We hadn't been to one in years. The one in Cambridge was just a bit too far away to be convenient; we used to go there to get their frozen blintzes, but they discontinued them a long time ago (now [personal profile] jwg makes them from scratch).

The local one has a lot of stuff we like, but not everything we need (they're not good on deli salads that we like to have for lunch, and they don't appear to have any fresh seafood). We'll probably still head over to the Shaw's in the North Shore Mall or (a little further) to the Market Basket off Route 128 for our serious grocery shopping. I think TJ's will be our best option for whole-bean coffee, however.
