Finally finally finally

susandennisSteveTheLawyer, once again, made promises he didn't keep. So last night I sent him an email asking for a new timeline. This morning, we got some action. My cousin's investments are with an outfit out of Missouri called Stiffel. Steve has been dealing with them now for months and I haven't been able to figure out what the hold up is. I'm actually now pretty sure it's Steve but whatever.
Finally I got the info I needed and the connection to talk to them directly. Steve's note said 'please call' UGH. I don't wanna call. I have email. I have text. But I do want this all settled so I called and I'm so glad I did!
And I think my Ameriprise guy who's on thin ice for ghosting me, just got himself onto even thinner ice.
The number I was given was answered by the guy I was trying to reach. Not a telephone tree. Not even an assistant. I went right to the advisor. (Even Ameriprise guy has a press 1 for, press 2 for system.) And he was fabulous! Sharp and efficient with no blowing air up my skirt. Clear and easy to understand without any extraneous anything. My intent had been to either move the investments to Ameriprise or liquidate and take the cash. Old Geoff thwarted those plans. I might well move my Ameriprise to him! And his assistant turns out to be as efficient as he is. I'm delighted to have this new option.
Turns out most all of the account creation/investment movement can be done with e-signature except 1 piece which needs a wet signature. I'll get that piece tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I can scan and sent it back via email.
Whew and whew and whew.
And if that weren't enough good news...
I got an email from the Heat Pump install guy and they will be here on the 9th of January. That, too, was impressive. He didn't call and want to know what day was good for me, he scheduled it in pencil and then he cleared it with the condo building manager and then he came to me with a 'good for you?' FUCK yeah! Very efficient and impressive.
Of course, on the 9th, I had my annual visit to the lung doctor. Happily her office was perfectly happy to slide me to the 10th.
Some days things just work. And today is one of those days for me.
I have a bed full of clean clothes and cats. The last load is nearly dry now.
When I gathered the first load out of the dryer all warm and ready to spread out on the bed, I was coming down the hall and there were two cats to meet me tails up high with the little curve at the tip. Happy cats. Hot laundry. They just crack me up.
