happenings
Dec. 20th, 2022 08:02 amIt's like a switch flipped. After waiting for weeks, I finally have approval and a date to get the heat pump installed. That is a huge relief.
After waiting for months, the needle on my cousin's estate jumped a mile forward. The SteveTheLawyer end is still sludging through molasses but the investment end is UnderControl. I've signed shit and read shit and sent info and made new friends in St. Louis. My phone thinks 'Matt from Stifel' is 'man from people' but it will learn.
I have a 5 page document that I need to sign and have a witness sign and then scan and send it back this morning. I think I'll take it down to the lobby and grab someone hanging down there to witness. Then I gotta figure out how to work the scanner on my printer. I figured I'd never use/need it but they didn't have a printer model without. I could use the phone's camera but might as well use the printer.
Plus, I'm just delighted to have bright new financial people to advise me. I found out this morning that neither of them are near retirement age. YEAH! I'm not ready to abandon my other guy but it is a huge relief to have a better than just viable alternative.
And if all that wasn't goodness itself, the coffee pod I'm testing this morning is delicious!! The box I got has 20 different flavors - 3 of each. One hazelnut and one cinnamon and the rest are regular coffee. I sorted them all out and am taking notes. Yesterday's was meh. But, today's is a keeper.
We were supposed to have 2-7 inches of snow overnight. Someone forgot to tell the sky. It's 35 degrees and we have rain. But, lots of places around here have serious snow. And the next few days look major iffy. I might not be going anywhere for a while.
One of the many deliverables from the pandemic is the death of snow days. Restaurants and small shops may still have one or two but everyone else is just work/learn from home. School districts around here sent everyone home for winter break with the hardware needed for remote classes. If I were of an age to enjoy even the random occasional snow day, I'd be soooooooooo pissed.
Oh shit. I just saw that Humbolt County (CA) had a 6.4 earthquake at 2:30 am today. That's not a little nudge. Yikes.
Time to get dressed and get crankin'.
