It's still dark but so hard to tell about the parking lot or street, but the Tree That I Hate is coated with ice. Never seen that before. My twitter feed says all bus service is suspended. Never remember that happening before. Oh and all runways at the airport shut down indefinitely.

It's currently 26 (-4).

We've already bottomed out temp wise here in the Austin area and no moisture at all so commerce is already starting up. We're fortunate. I can see the ice out your front door and keep looking for a vehicle going down 1st avenue. I used to like that kind of stuff. Now it looks like nothing but dangerous.

i've seen a couple of very slow cars and one truck but no traffic jam, fer sure. of course, matt wins the temp race this morning, tho.

And, he's at work where the heat is not really good in most of the spaces. And he can't wear gloves.

Weirdly, I look at the 10 day forecast for Taunton and the low is about the same as here. So, yeah, Matt wins. The prize is a vacation in Des Moines!

I went to bring in my empty trash bin and some kind soul had moved it from curbside (where it could conceivably blow away in our 20+MPH winds) to be up by my garage door (where it's much less likely). I'm glad; it kept my exposure to the 5˚F (–15˚C) air even more limited.

Here in eastern MA it's been raining pretty seriously since early yesterday evening, and today's highs are supposed to be in the mid 50s F. The rain is supposed to stop sometime in the afternoon, and overnight lows are predicted to be in the teens.

I'm just glad that cold air isn't coming until after the rain is gone. And I don't have to go anywhere outdoors either today or tomorrow (or Sunday, for that matter).
