Yesterday's trip to Costco was pretty wild. If you weren't there, you were one of the few. Thankgod for their self checkout stands! I got my ham and my bacon and my waytooexpensive eye vitamins were on sale. I also snagged some gingerbread cupcakes. Most everyone else, it appeared, was buying for the zombie apocalypse. But everyone was in the store so there was no waiting for gas. All in all an excellent trip.

The cupcakes are huge. I froze them and then cut them in half. I had one of the halves last night and omg, what a treat.

I also did a lot of organization yesterday. I put all my subscriptions into a spreadsheet - TV, newspapers, apps - what it is, how much it is, what the password is and when it expires/renews. It feels really good to get it all in one place so I can keep an eye on it easily.

Today just might be a Goodwill trip. A few years ago, I gave them most all my dinner ware and started buying just a few of each from them - a few different sized bowls, a half dozen different sized plates. And, now, every once in a while, I exchange. I am currently tired of my plates. So time to trade in for new. Also my bowl situation needs some help. I have too many and never the size I need. Time to rectify. And today's a good day for that. Plus steps.

And there will be crochet as I continue to finish off my big project. I think I might be able to get it all done by the start of next week.

I stumbled on a good read - Missing,Presumed by Susie Steiner. It's book one of a police procedural series. And so far, I like it a lot.

Ok, treadmill time.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who rotates through dinner ware! I have bought "sets" - although I never use the mugs (they are always tiny) or the tiniest plates - so now I tend to look for open stock sets where I can pick the bits I want.

I actually have a set in the garage in a box - because while I got tired of them and found something new - I still do like them - and figure I will rotate them back in at some point.

I have really found that I stopped using big plates for the most part - I am gravitating toward wide shallow bowl things - they work well for anything with any kind of sauce or big salads AND they work really well for reheating things in the microwave. My silicone lilypad thingy fits right over top and because the sides are taller than the middle, the food is all below the lid and it sits just nicely.

That cost me $28.40 plus tax.

They need to make it cheaper to sell more but what a great idea.

I miss Costco cupcakes but I can't justify the annual fee, so I let my membership lapse.

The only dishes I never got tired of is mismatched Fiesta. When I open the cupboard, it's like opening a box of crayons. Mismatched Fiesta, how I love you!

The gingerbread cupcakes sound yummy! For Christmas, we got a huge tray of them at Sam's [Costco's rival lol]. They were yummy but dried out quickly because we can only eat them so fast. We sent quite a few home with my youngest daughter since her boyfriend seemed to really enjoy them. My son was supposed to show up as well but he never did. Otherwise, some would've gone home with him also. I always forget about freezing things!
