I love the new Dr. Lung
Jan. 10th, 2023 09:11 amMy lung doctor left the practice first and then my beloved nurse practitioner left. So today, my (hopefully) annual visit broke in a new doctor - Dr. Linda Anderson. And I love her. She's old enough that she has good history and not old enough to retire. She's matter of fact with no frills. She listens and asks good questions and does not fuck around with nonsense.
My appointment was for 8:20. I got called into the exam room at 8:20. Short chat with the nurse and then I did not even get the email app on my phone open before Dr. Anderson came in. We were all done and dusted and I was out the door by 8:30. I was in my living room again by 9. That's fucking impressive.
She told me to ignore the expiration date on my albuterol inhalers 'that's the sellby date - save your money'. And the best treatment option of all will be having real air conditioning. No change in the rest. All sounds good
'Hope we don't need to get together again til next year but we're here if you need us.'
My kind of doctor for sure!! My COPD is very mild really. I have days when it's not great but, honestly, not that many of those days. And, even more telling, I think, not that many more of those days than last year. It's a progressive disease but happily, it's not in a hurry and I have resources if it decides to speed up. I'm very lucky.
I'm out of meals and could actually go to the market today but, somehow, my freezer has gotten full again so I think, instead, I'll just eat that volume down and go on Thursday when the install is finished or Friday.
I've got lots of little chores and I think I'll just get to it.
