susandennisFound this beginning of an entry from yesterday. It did not get finished or posted. Weird.
It was time to wash/change bed sheets but I went all out this time. The sheets (well, sheet since I only use one) and pillow case and the mattress cover and the duvet(comforter). All fresh and clean. And I've done a million chores. I'm not quite done but close. The comforter is still in the dryer.
I've done so much walking around doing all this work, I've already hit my steps for the day and I never got onto the treadmill. (It's folded up and out of the ac installers' way. A perk for me!)
No big deal. Now it's another day. I got up at 4:45 this morning and did a big purge of stuff. You know those cheap shelving units that are cubbies you put those fabric boxes in? I have two of them - 2 over 3 cubbies each - one on each side of the bed. I want to move the treadmill back against the wall but I need another inch of space. I had thought I'd move the bed over an inch. This is not something I can do myself so complicated.
But, then last night, as I was going to sleep, I thought, why not just eliminate the shelf on that side? I woke up this morning and finished thinking about it and decided to get up and get it done before the A/C guys arrived. All 6 cubbies had those boxes in them and the boxes were all full. Of shit I truly did not need. Old socks old shorts, old wash cloths, etc. I tossed it all. Two of the boxes got tossed as well because they had cat claw marks on them. I folded up the other boxes and put them into the closet. Then I muscled the shelf unit down to the dumpster and tossed it in before I got tempted to save it.
I'll get a proper night stand but for now the lamp is on a table that was looking for a new job anyway. I'm delighted. While doing all of this, I found another table - one I used to use for a desk, in the closet just taking up space. I think it's headed for the dumpster, too but maybe not until the workmen are all gone.
I'm guessing they will be here by 8:30 and it's 6:50 now. I'm not dreading it like before but I'm not looking forward to it either. The cats will be excited.
