One of the holes they cut into the wall is pretty large and within an inch of access by Julio. It's in the bottom of a soffit and I can see why they thought it was safe from cats but Julio tried hard to get in there. I finally got the step ladder and tried to tape it up but the tape didn't stick. He didn't get into the hole but I'm hoping these dudes show up soon and make it safe from him.

I did learn that with my step ladder, I cannot reach the filters to take them out and clean them. This is going to be an issue. Taller ladder? Hire someone? I'm not sure how often this filter thing needs to happen. The book says every two weeks but the installer said that was overkill so probably once a month. [personal profile] bill_schubert can help me figure this out when he gets here in March.

Whew 8:15 and the workers are here. See that little ledge next to the hole that guy has his head into? Julio stands on that ledge and tries to get into that hole.

I am for sure going to see that they block access before they leave today.

I heard back from the contractor guy who, hopefully, is going to come in after and fix. He's coming tomorrow afternoon to look/assess. His emails use exactly zero unnecessary words but he sure does respond promptly. So I'm hopeful he'll do the job.

Soon. Soon. This will all be done. At least it does add a fairly significant value to the condo. So yeah.

Zero unnecessary words may indicate somebody like me who hates to try to type on smartphones. (-:

Presumably a cat sees a hole and it has to be invesigated.

Holes are tiny kitty havens. They can be dangerous if they get in, but can't figure out that the only way out is backing out! I have a story about this -- too long to tell -- where our cat, aptly named, "Phantom" got into a hole in the wall created while replacing the polybutylene pipe in our house. All's well that ends well, but that tiny plaintiff meow from inside our walls was troubling.
